I could cry reading your words… I always say that jungkook is a stereotypical genius… they’re often extremely quirky and confusing to most ppl… they’re always very misunderstood. His chemistry, physics and I’d say biology too from his knowledge of animals insects, human bodies …. Just if ppl understand that jungkook really has a flare for sciences and the arts… then it’s easy to understand him. His curiosity is bc he’s got a science brain lol scientists need to know and understand how everything works and why it works like that. They tend to take things apart… just to understand them. It’s not that he doesn’t understand the simple functions of things sometimes when he seems confused but it’s bc he’s looking at them from a completely different starting point than most. Honestly he and rm are very similar on their intelligence… they’re just into different things … and it makes me laugh when ppl are so surprised when he’s good at things from the start… well he’s athletic, has perfect pitch and a general knowledge about how anything and everything works bc of his science brain … so he can grasp how to do something just by looking at it… so bc he’s athletic… he’s always starting ahead bc he can understand on a deeper level quickly. He’s never good at those games where they have to run around and search for things to collect and bring back bc he’s going over too many variables and over thinking things when a lot of the stuff they do is more simple… he’s thinking more broadly. He always says he’s not smart… but he is… but I figured out that’s why he likes to cook so much… to eat it of course.. but also bc it’s science.. and it’s why he talks about flavor components, and like you said the Maillard reaction and stuff like that.. he’s able to cook w ingredients and find exactly what he wants pretty easily bc he understands the science behind cooking… so he gets very into his explanations and stuff like that. He really is such a nerd and I love it!!! I’m so thankful that someone else understands what’s so under appreciated and acknowledged about jungkook. Thank you for reaffirming my love for this fandom lol jungkook talks down about himself all the time and ppl just believe what he says… even though if you pay attention… he knows exactly what he’s doing and talking about … he just has that bad habit of always putting himself down… he’s truly a “young genius polymath” just like rolling stone said !
