My dad was a guitar player (RIP Daddy) and he would listen to this whole album all the time and then go play on his guitar. This was when mom and him were divorced-this song was his coping to them splitting up. I guess it worked because they eventually remarried. Sade is one of the women who will always be in my musical rotation.

I was just 20 years old and used to love listening to this song from my upstairs window watching the rain fall in California.. Just was thinking there was a lot of life ahead of me and curious as to where it would take me.. And what a ride it has been!! Still love this album.

Need to see her do this song and many others on youtube at the Humphreys concert in San Diego in 1991 in a white gown that she designed. She started out as a fashion designer. The arrangement truly matches how you would watch a random crime unfold before your eyes. Also the horn you are hearing in the background is a muted trumpet. The sax eventually comes in but it is not muted. Also all the hollow high pitched knocking sounds you hear from percussion is a wood block. Awesome review!!
