So, not sure how many people know about Miura and Mori's relationship, but it was something that gave inspiration to Guts and Griffith, to the point that their dialogue has been taken and used in the manga. So as much as people tend to dislike the idea of a series to continue once the creator is dead, this shit is different, because the one who is continuing it is not only someone close to the creator, but was the inspiration of the story itself. So, Here's hoping that it keeps going!

I feel like FMAB is considered "the best ever" by so many people not because it's actually the most mind-blowing anime ever made in the history of mankind but because it's pretty good under almost every aspect and that alone is good enough for the majority of people. Like, it has good openings, good animation, it doesn't needlessly drag out the story, doesn't really have any filler, most of the side characters are relevant to the overarching plot, has some funny moments, has a bunch of cool fights, it delves into more mature themes than the standard cookie-cutter shounen and it even has a pretty good english dub Yeah you can find another anime that has better animation or better music or more interesting and complex characters, but an anime that has "better everything" than FMAB? Yeah that's a bit harder to find

@@ammarabbas5153 hard disagree. I mean can you tell me any shonen where a character describes choice feminism? And the story is very unpredictable and extremely creative. Hakari and his jackpot cursed technique is incredibly creative and his fight with Hashime feels like a chess match where they constantly counter each other's moves at a breakneck speed. Or the fact that the show feels like it has 4 main characters and all are likable with distinct personalities (Yuji, Megumi, Gojo and Yuta). FMA is my favorite because the story is overwhelmingly good. If I had to tell someone what FMA is about its basically the story of how people lost everything, went on a journey to find it, and at the end they realized they had what they were looking for the entire time. The show has a lot of subtle points about self reflection and fighting against your inner self to grow as a person--which is why the portal to truth room is a reflection of the person who enters. If you pay close attention, you'll notice that the people who enter the portal of truth and who gain the infinite knowledge of alchemy are often the ones who continue to hurt and suffer. It's an interesting point because despite having all the knowledge of alchemy at your finger tips you still can't stop the suffering. And that's a big point of the show and why Ed's relinquishing of alchemy was a really powerful moment. He had all the power and he gave it up so he could accept himself and his circumstances and move on with his life: which is something all the other characters, such as Teacher, were unable to do. It's overall a very good story that people should be exposed to because everyone is going to go through very difficult things in life. But if you're able to accept that those difficult things happened and you appreciate what you currently have then you're able to move forward and grow as a person--which is just one of the many powerful themes that FMA explores.

I was definitely in the same boat with FMAB - it may not be the best in terms of the individual aspects of what an anime is built off of, but it's so consistently good in every aspect that it feels like a truly complete story. There's no drop in quality anywhere and it tells its story cleanly from start to finish which is hard to do. Also all the characters are fully fleshed out and have real emotion and motivations that make sense for their personality.

That's what bothers me the most about Sean's comments. Like yeah, MAPPA can make a show with god tier animation. However, what they need is time and money to produce a good product. I don't know if Sean knew that MAPPA legitimately had no time to make this season, but it sounds like he genuinely thinks they did it out of laziness or lack of care. @@skinny8641 It's not laziness. It's the only way they could've done it to meet their deadline at all. Their deadlines are not set by the studio: they're set by the infamous Japanese production committee that values profits over anything else. With the close release of the ending of the AOT manga, they wanted to cash in the hype as soon as possible, and so they set the Winter 2020. WIT, the original studio of AOT, backed out immediately. They were already stretched incredibly thin and frustrated by season 3 and genuinely could not take it anymore. No other studio took it except MAPPA, who took on the nearly impossible task to create 16 episodes in less than 9 months. The Titans had to be CGI because there was no time to animate them in 2D. The character designers only had a week to create the main cast. Animators were pushed to work day and night to get something on the table. AOT Season 4 was done out of anything but laziness. If you want to call MAPPA disgusting, then call them out on their blatantly horrible work conditions and meager pay. However, you have to admit that the production of AOT Season 4 was nothing short of a miracle.

I personally think that everyone can see it the way they want but as of right now having “someone” to continue, to carry on the massive amount of work done by Miura so that we all could see the finale the way Miura intended it it’s just the best thing for the manga and for all the work he has done, for everything he put into making without any doubt the best manga of all times. And as for that “someone” who is in fact K. Mori, who was there by Miura’s side when he planned the eclipse, who was his best friend since art school, who was like a brother to him, the only one he talked with about Berserk from start to finish it’s by far the best we could hope for along with the collaboration with Gaga studio, Miura’s “disciples” who worked with him and helped him getting through till it’s final days. Obviously we all have to keep in mind that it’s inevitable that the vision and the format we will get of the manga it’s not gonna correspond 100% to the unique style Miura had, having that in mind to me it’s so much disrespectful not to continue reading Berserk only because the direction HAD to change due to the obvious, so yeah it may not be 100% true to Miura style but I think that if he gave this enormous responsibility to the one he could trust the most so that everybody could see the end of his work just like the way he wanted, who are we to “disobey” the last will of the person who gave us that much? So I personally think that by continuing reading Berserk through the end it’s the best way of honoring and thanking him for what he gave us.

@CptnXplosion just now getting this notification lol. So it's just cuz so little is actually explained. The limitations are pretty bare minimum with transmutation circles and law of equivalent exchange, but we rarely see how characters learn from that and create workarounds or the struggle that must be to work with mid battle. The bigger issues, however, are that its described as a science more than just mysticism but there's very little actual exploration into it, and for some reason little sharing of knowledge. Abilities should actually be less unique because of that. Further, progression on alchemy and what causes it tends to be strangely opaque and occurs out of nowhere, when given how its described, it should occur through deliberate and careful study. And then there's the lack of worldbuilding driven by alchemy. Most of how alchemists interact with the world seems to be in battle, warfare, terrorism, when realistically there's should be hundreds of fields that are directed more so at civilian life. Let's take the hunters association in HxH for example, while yes most are combatants, they all have their own interests that delve outside of just combat. Some are explorers, some want to be doctors, some are gourmets, some just want wealth, some are historians etc Maybe how I feel about it is just cuz I remember less of the details but there's the gist

I started watching Naruto for the first time last year too, I made it to Naruto Shippuden episode 452 day before yesterday, still working on it, I decided to watch every episode. I love the show! Naruto and Sasuke dynamic does get confusing, and Sasukes reasoning can get strange, but when it hits it hits hard, like the Pain Arc, and for the original, The Land of Waves arc, Chunin Exam, and Sasuke Retrieval arc.

In my opinion, I think the pacing of demon slayer is fine. I personally am not a big fan of just rushing into fight scenes, because I want something relevant to the storyline as well. I also want to get more attached to the characters, ofc you can do that during the fight scenes as well but you need to do it out of stuff like that too. For demon slayer I actually feel like they have a good mix of 'resting' episodes, you know characters chill, learn about each other, learn about different things relevant to the storyline but it does not go on for too long, where it gets boring.

Title is not tongue in cheek, Jack's got good taste. Even his take on Berserk seems reasonable, I don't really understand the pessimist who don't want anything to do with more Berserk, Miura probably wanted/wants the story finished most of all. I guess if Joey is right and there was nothing really left behind in a literal sense, who cares? If you've ever earnestly tried to write a story you probably agree that inspiration comes from real life and the people that worked with him making Berserk surely have had some sort of influence on their collective work. To answer Garnt and his question of who would want to take on finishing Berserk; his friends, work associates, and people who shared the making of his dream would want to finish their collaborative masterpiece in his honor and memory. At least that's how I envision I might feel if I knew him personally. If feels like a horrible shame for such a prolific story to not get a bookend.

@@blurb9319 I'd say if the story and characters are basically a conglomerate of everything I've already seen in other members of its genre, the story and characters are "mid". I hate using that word because everyone interprets it as "bad". I treat JJK the same way as Demon Slayer and other battle shonen nowadays, which is I just watch them for fun. Don't think about the story or characters, just watch for the cool fights. So in that sense, JJK is a great show. I just wouldn't put it on my favorites because, again, I'm not exactly taking it "seriously".

Well season 1 IS pretty much just pure action, with a few little mysteries thrown in to raise curiosity. One of the very reasons I absolutely adore Naruto. People keep trashing it by calling the story "mid" or as the vast majority says "the last arc was soo bad" but I don't really care about such things precisely because of the depth the characters hold and the overall feeling you get while watching/reading the series. I get so nostalgic every time somebody makes a mention of naruto because the feels just come rushing in instantly. Kishimoto did a very good job for the most part with the way he developed characters and conveyed his messages through them which reached a lot of people and the anime did a very commendable job with the ost which further added to the vibe and made the nostalgia even stronger.
