I think most people can agree that hearing footsteps rapidly approaching you and not knowing where they are coming from and how exactly close they are is the most nerve shattering experience. It’s something that with proper buildup in a game gets the fight or flight terror moving through your veins. Absolutely horrible, 10/10 scare.

When Jack nearly ran face first into the monster in the flooded bathrooms, I actually let out an actual yell of sheer surprise and terror along with him. This game is pretty good at making you very uneasy because you know that something is there. The only problem being that you could hear the doll pitter pattering all over the place, so you knew to be cautious (of course that increases your stress and paranoia tenfold, but let's leave that aside for now) but the thing in the bathroom was astoundingly quiet, thereby forcing you to rely on sight and speed to keep it at arm's length, which I really appreciate. The game design and (jump) scares here work pretty well together

Spooky Timestamps: 5:26 (MAJOR) walking down the fighting hall, at this time stamp a shadow figure jumpscares back with a loud noise. 5:46 (minor) there's a dead looking girl doll on the table. He leaves room and it cries, turns around and it's no longer there. 10:38 (minor) the doll is behind the door of the last stall. It waits wordlessly. Same deal with turning around, it making a nose, and turning back to see it is gone. 14:10 (moderate) doll is behind him. This is the first time we see the dolls mechanics of moving closer when you're looking away. 16:47 (minor) screen glitch. 17:19 (minor) doll appears from around the bend, jack is able to walk past it. 19:56 (minor) small jump cut with glitch effects back to the classroom. The doll is seen standing just on front of him. 21:04 (minor) jack opens the door and the doll is standing just to the left on the other side. He squeaks past it. 21:33 (MAJOR) Jack re-enters hallway and shadow figure screams into existence in front of him. Room turns red. Shadow chases him through several rooms. It loses his scent temporarily but finds him again. Kills jack at 22:07. 23:11 (MAJOR) "It really is like SCP meets--" and then a long limbed monster crawls over the stall in the distance, screaming, and chases him. 23:49 (MAJOR) monster screams, camera turns around to be face to face with it, and it kills Jack. 27:28 (moderate) longlimb appears from the right and screeches, chases Jack. 28:11 (MAJOR) Longlimb is right around the corner, screeches and chases. Jack SOMEHOW gets away. 28:58 (moderate) longlimb is down the dark red hallway. Sees Jack, screeches, chases. Gets away again! 29:27 (moderate) sees him again. Screeches, chases. Not only does Jack escape, he finds the exit. Amazing haha. 31:24 (MAJOR) A new entity, creepy smiley face against pitch blackness, jumpscares Jack At this timestamp and kills him. 32:05 (moderate) lighting dims to yellow and Smiley let's out that glitchy screech. Though we can't see where he's coming from. 32:53 (minor) Smileys face appears in distant doorway asking with his screech. 33:54 (moderate) Smiley appears in front of Jack, no screech. But rushes into him. Doesn't kill him though. And that's the last scare of the video.

jack reading a 3/4 of the letter without noticing he can scroll through is so hillarious. he really just puzzled himself with the letter lol

I think what makes the doll super scary is the fact that you’re unable to see it actually moving. Not being able to gauge how fast she’s actually running combined with the super fast sound of her little footsteps makes it feel like she’s running after you faster than she actually is. It makes you paranoid and always feel like the next time you turn around to face her, she’ll stop just one step in front of you.

I love how Jack was taking the doll thing lightly until he couldn't see it, but could hear it a lot and started to panic some.

As soon as it showed that you can interact with most objects in the game I knew exactly how this playthrough would go

That sound effect of the kid's footsteps would be a great auditory illusion for a haunted house. The concept of it in total would be hilarious, really. You're navigating through a creepy setting and you hear the little rapid steps behind you and you've gotta escape...? That'd be awesome

I love how all of his scary game-play is absolutely packed with comedy.

The whole sequence from 27:06 to 29:57 was so great and so hilarious to watch. The footsteps of that creature were insanley menacing but i loved it!

This game has such great ambience. The monsters are genuinely terrifying. The little doll’s pitter pattering was HORRIFIC. I got scared just watching. Kinda blown away at how great this game is

The developers were brilliant to make the game in the style of a found-footage film! It adds to the suspense of whether the player character survives or not, since what we're seeing could just be the footage he left behind after he disappeared. Clever!

I love horror a lot, and this concept has always instilled a deep fear in me. Being followed, and having no way of stopping it or doing anything about it at all, absolutely terrifying. Jack makes it better with his humour, though! ^^
