So I think I figured it out, the connection in what had happened. So basically: The tectonic plates shifted much more than they should have and one ended up going almost completely over the other, so the one from Lone Sails would be the one on top as the water started to leave it going to the lower tectonic plate, which then made it into a barren wasteland as there was no more water, but all the water that used to be there went into Changing Tide's tectonic plate, flooding it and washing most things away. This made both societies develop different ways of coping with the CT one making everything from trains and towns into boats, and LS changing anything from boats and scrap metal into walking/driving machinery

AAAAHHHH THE LADY SHE HAD A PHOTO OF LONE! For those who don't know Lone was the playable character from the LS. Lone Hendrickson was the Daughter of Ian Hendrickson which if you don't know was the man who invented the okomotive, the main unit in LS (or what Jack called Thomas). In the beginning of LS Lone is looking at her father's grave before she begins her journey. now in this game CT The woman who was found in the boat was holding a photo of Lone. My guess she is the mother of Lone and when the world "split" in two Lone went with her father while the lady stayed on the side of the world with ocean. Now I believe that when her father died Lone was on a journey to meet with her mother (The Lady from the painting). Now I don't know abt this part but there might be a chance the woman is also the mother of the playable character in this game and that Lone and the CT character may be siblings? I don't know abt the whole siblings part but I guess that's what a theory is really!

I'm thinking that the third game should have an option for co-op, but also Lone and Tide should convert their boat into a proper airship. They've already tackled land and water. But let's not make the ship strictly locked to the air. If the weather is getting bad, you can land it to get past the storm. If there's a huge obstacle in the way, just head airborne. Also if you happen to fall off the ship while it's airborne, have it automatically lower a rope ladder for you to climb up, sort of like how the previous vehicles will automatically stop if they get too far away from you. The control switch that operates the submersion feature would instead control the balloon.

Amazing game, the idea to connect the two games in such a beautiful way, is just wow. I get the same feeling from FAR series as I got from Journey or abzu, no dialog, amazing visuals, amazing music, that kind of games I would unironically call pieces of art. Even though they might not be long, like 3-4h they leave more of an impact on me, just the pure amount of emotion in such a short game. I just love that type of games.

Man, the music in Changing Tides and Lone Sails is disarmingly beautiful, absolutely chilling! The arrangements really suit the game with perpetually driving rhythms and adventurous yet very ambient chords and melodies and a stunning timbral palette! Absolutely blown away! Only an hour into the video and I had to go back to dissect "Circling" in particual, the track at about 35:00 because it literally gave me goosebumps, and although I love almost any kind of music, game OSTs or soundtracks in general aren't usually what I turn to when I want to listen to something (meaning no disrespect as I find many OSTs to be much more beautiful and complex than a lot of other music). So glad Jack played this game as I probably wouldn't have come across it or it's music if it weren't for this gameplay, same goes for Lone Sails. This actually made my day, thank you so much!

I watched Sean play the first Far and fell absolutely in love with it, so when I heard there was a sequel I immediately bought it and played through the whole game right away. I was so excited to see he was playing it, mostly because I couldn’t wait for him to see the ending. These games are SO amazing. The art, the story (which is somehow so poignant without ever speaking a single word), the characters, the “lore,” the imaginative universe, the color choices, the music, the mechanics, the way they teach you the gameplay without it feeling dumbed down.. it’s just such an incredible game series. Truly a work of art. I really hope they make a 3rd one that offers co-op with both characters or at the very least that one person gets to play as both characters doing different jobs on a mix-matched vehicle of some type. But, even if they don’t release a third. I’m so thankful they created the two they did. They’re brilliant and beautiful and just amazing.

I was about to say FAR:Iron roads but I guess a train may be too similar to the first game. Maybe when they did the above two that they could return to their roots for a bit?

Only about an hour into this episode, but wanted to share my theory, so far. The first game showed two men, Henricksen Brothers, as being inventors and their name on some of the giant ships/vehicles. I believe global warming (or other global disasters) went out of control. Part of the world was left a barren, dry, wasteland and the other part flooded. One brother created ways to traverse the dessert and the other, the sea. The dessert tech uses a lot of red buttons and the water tech uses a lot of blue buttons, signifying each brother's design style. This was all intended to save mankind and usher in a better future, but their inventions only added to the problem (both the train and the boat require burning a lot of fuel), leaving to even higher flooding for the already waterlogged area and massive storms and weather imbalance for the dryer area. They had forgotten the past and repeated the same mistakes as those before them, and humans doomed themselves.

Be funny if the end story requires the plant to help rebuild the earth or something.

@@scottjackson1636 it doesnt but you can keep it on the boat and once the new back is installed you can actually plant it, water it and it grows throughout the game. He sure missed out on this one

I liked these FAR videos, you make them exciting and I enjoy the way your brain thinks and comes up with theories haha. Thanks for the videos, Jack!
