Dude.:.that A is a third rail kind of note. When I was first learning this stuff, I’d be playing, and getting loose.. I’d sometimes lapse into thinking “E Major” and hit that fucker. Oof! Clamsville baby. I had already amassed a good bit of muscle memory within the framework of the Dorian fingerings…it helped me get my sound where I wanted it to be pretty quickly and painlessly. Ultimately you need to HEAR it as E Lydian, but this worked for me. Try F# Mixo and B Ionian licks as well. You’ll probably walk away with a few winners. @@dustylense I don’t see that…please explain. Mixo-Dorian isn’t a thing. Mixolydian b3 is. Sounds like pseudo science from Stitch Method.
