Very cool lesson. For an intermediate player (and Dead fan) like me these videos are gold. I was working through your Morning Dew tips and after lots of bad soloing I realized the D->F->C progression had a mini line cliche of F#->F->E in it that I got fixated on and it felt like I had discovered Atlantis. It was so much fun to exploit once I learned it was there! Many thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Awesome lesson, these videos make me want to pick up a guitar every time I see them on my feed. My music theory background has plenty of gaps but these are really helping me patch them up. The time you put into these is much appreciated!

Thanks Josh! You’re welcome. It’s nice to get encouragement from folks such as yourself😊 Slow and steady. I share what I’m working on personally or what I’m finding works well for my private students. Using a system like the Line Cliché to guide a solo is a great way to start playing through changes in a meaningful way. Ultimately we should be able to target notes and build lines from ANY chord, not just the easily predicted descending line represented here…but this is a very good way to start building and implementing a strategy for the road ahead.
