Thanks! I love this one…I put a little more aggressive edge on the attack of this solo than the original…I think it’s OK. I don’t have as many ideas as the maestro, so I try to make up for it with a little more oomph.

Hey Victor! Thanks for the succinct assessment! Definitely the reaction I was going for. I love it when the Dead goes for the the long jam…but personally I’m not a bottomless pit of ideas, so I’ll often opt for a tighter, more aggressive presentation of this music. I was going for a MXR distortion plus. I used a fuzz circuit and an eq set in a frown shape. Once you get into that stuff I think it’s all your ears and gear intuition.
