I have been a Jackson Browne fan 48 years in my opinion Jackson his hands down the most heartfelt prolific songwriter of our time I for one am thankful that we've had him in our lives helping us express the feelings that many of us cannot put into words thank you again mr. Browne

I have been 66 for 6 months now. Everything in my heart and soul believes without a doubt, Jackson truly is and has been the very best songwriter/musician of my lifetime. I love many other bands and musicians but Jackson has always been my #1. I have been diagnosed with "C" but i am going to fight with all i can to be free of it. For many reasons but i am not ready to let go of this music. Jackson has been in my life since i first heard him in my youth. He has a special place in my heart.

I agree with you. Jackson is the most prolific songwriter of our times. His poetic excellence is without equal. The For Everyman album floored me when I first heard it in the seventies. Fifty years later he still brings peace to me in a selfish world. What a gifted man.

It is Jackson ' s voice that still gets me plus the playing of David Lindley . Magic .

At this point in his career Jackson Browne had published, I think 3 albums: Saturate Before Using, Late for the Sky and Everyman. This collection of material is on display in this concert. If he had never written another lyric or sang another note his body of work established him as one of the great songwriters of his day. Though the production values of this recording are not so great, in my mind and heart, every note and word still rings true. As a college kid I played these albums over and over. They became an important part of me, as did The Pretender album. These songs like a time machine carry me back and touch deep in my soul. I'm forever grateful to have grown up with such musical influences. Thanks Jackson, I feel forever indebted for these gifts.

My dad has shared his love of Jackson Browne through my life. We have seen him in concert several times together. Thank you Jackson, for the memories and great music. You have touched multiple generations in this family❤️

It's funny how some artists' music just "hits" you at the exact time you need it. It's not just coincidental ... I think it's a sort of a soulful connection waiting to happen. When it does --- and also when the life circumstances surrounding you at the time lend a receptivity --- it literally "impresses" a shape on your spirit. And that shape never leaves you. You return to it whenever you want to or need to and it ALWAYS evokes the same feelings, albeit adjusted for your place upon your life's journey. But, speaking for myself, I know if a song made me cry instantly upon first hearing it, then it ALWAYS will ... even after 40 or 50 years! The good artistic stuff ... the REALLY good stuff ... whether Van Gogh, The Beatles, or Jackson, it matters not. The art and the songs are effective, but more importantly, they are "affective"!

Best thing about this is how un-"showman" it is. They look like a band just playing in a studio who are happy to have an audience watch them work - just gathered around in a circle, equipment placed where it's convenient so they can hear each other. And the playing and arrangment are dead-on tight. Simply beautiful.

first saw jackson at the TROUBADOR. he was introduced by linda ronstadt as a new and upcoming talent or something to that effect. i was mesmerised! thank you jackson for being in our lives and for being our everyman.

Man, I yearn for the 70's again. Saw Jackson several times in Jersey and PA. Him and Lindley are both legends and I will forever be greatly to both of them for there inspiration.

I can listen to Jackson Brown today, just as I did in 1972 while in high school. Well, its certainly been long time since high school but what memories, thank you for sharing your gift with those who can only wish to have such talent.

Heard him at the San Jose Civic Auditorium in 1970. He was the warm up band (imagine that!) for Linda Ronstadt. David Lindley sat in with Linda's band. What an incredible night of fabulous music. Musically and lyrically he is a gift to the world.

3 weeks later, i have watched this many times. I was 20 then. I went to one of his concerts when i was 22. I will be 66 in a week. I had been a fan long before the concert. There are so many things to love about this concert, more than i can list here. It's no wonder i have been a "fan" for so many years.

Watching this it must have been hard for him to go on tour just 7 months after his wife, Phyllis Major, committed suicide - and less than a year after they had gotten married. That helps explain why he was so unsure when the Pretender album would be released, as he was introducing its title track. Great performance and it's so nice to see and hear Jackson and David Lindley in their younger days. JB is an amazing poet/songwriter, in my opinion. Without KZfaq so much of this would be lost in time.

Have never been disappointed. Saw this show two weeks earlier in Cincinnati (Oct 1, 1976). This recording (in spite of the flaws) brings a flood of wonderful memories. Hearing this is like listening to a spirit from a prior lifetime. Computers have screwed up out lives in so many ways, but to recall at a click music from generations ago, is beyond words.

Been a fan of JB since the beginning, his lyrics just seemed to speak to me, but I guess we all feel like that. I was stuck in a declining marriage when I heard the song Late for the Sky, and it somehow made things clear to me, especially the lines: I don't know what I loved in you, I don't know what you loved in me; maybe the picture of somebody you were hoping I might be.... What amazed me then, and still resonates today, is that he and I are the same age, yet he had all this insight to life when he was in his early 20s! I expected to learn life's lessons from my parents and others who had lived long enough to experience how to deal with the difficulties we inevitably run into. How did he get all this life experience at 24?? Kind of made me feel like I was a child and he was the wise old man at the mountaintop. Very grateful for all these tunes, and this video was fabulous!

Gold, Gold, Gold!!! Have seen Jackson Browne every tour down under since he first toured here in the late 70`s. Has never let anyone down in concert in my eyes, but more to the point has blown myself and many others away on numerous occasions. Has always toured with brilliant and classy musicians, including that ragtag mob called "The Section" and the many artists he`s toured down here with; Bonnie Rait, James Taylor, Kebmo etc. etc. I remember one night at the now demolished Sydney Entertainment Centre Knophler got up on stage to jam with the boys for a couple of songs and the Kootch, Danny Kortchmar blew Knophler all the way back to the old England Town, pretty to watch. i`ll keep going while Jackson keeps coming, absolute genius, last show at the Sydney Opera House a couple of years ago brilliant, featuring his latest album at the time which is also brilliant. This Man can Sing!!

Watching this reminds me of why i loved him so much so many years ago and still do to this day. He is a very special song writer/singer/musician. He's just so good! Brilliant.

There is something so raw and somber about the feel of this performance. Then I noticed the date, and realized it was about six months since his wife passed on. Boy of Mine is so unbelievable sad, and I don't know how he managed.

How can anyone be this talented? If I could. Just write one song like fountain and f sorrow I would die a very happy man. Thanks Jackson. You just made my day again. Sincerely.

Jackson Browne, the best music story teller of his time

the music today cannot even come close to this one! where have all the great artists gone?

I have been Jackson Browne fan in 32 years until now.

All JB's songs move me. His songs have followed me thru so many hardships in my life and so many good times in my life. I call him the love of my life.

My older brother and I drove from Wytheville to Roanoke to get THE PRETENDER the first week it hit the shelves : 84 miles each way, but we didn't get music to the mountains in any timely fashion. I confessed on the way home, " Boyd, I bought 2 copies. " And he smiled, " Me, too. " I still have mine.

My all time favorite artist of all time....

Saw him 2 summers ago, his voice was still incredible. He did so much old stuff it was amazing. He still has it, and seems as sweet as we remember him from the late 70's.

David Lindley, though. Love his playing. The camera doesn't find him often here, but you can always hear him.

This brings back so many memories...the concert was during the fall of my freshman year at CSU in Ft. Collins, CO. There was a small record shop, Finest Records right across the street from my dorm where I got introduced to Jackson Browne and Dan Fogelberg, still my two favorite musicians of all time. As others have said, true poet laureates of their generation, and even of all time, I would argue. If you love Jackson Browne, I highly recommend his two volume acoustic album. Pure magic with lots of life wisdom woven in along the way.

There few and far in between that can write their own songs..this is what I call pure talent...

"Don't confront me with my failures, I had not forgotten them". That a 16yo wrote those lyrics, is almost unbelievable.

He was such a young man at this time. Yet his music reflects such depth and wisdom and this is paired with such musical artistry. So many years later, he remains a gifted artist.

This is an absolutely brilliant concert. I wish there were more! Well worth watching and listening to. Can't wait to see Jackson back in my Country in the not too distant future. Love Jo xo

I was only 9 when this concert was held but when I grow up and heard Jackson Browne music I love it , my older brother even brought two album of his song......I always played it when I have friends in our house. LONG LIVE good MUSIC

I saw him last summer, here in Minneapolis, and he is still the most wonderful poet of our generation. His beautiful lyrics are timeless.

I saw him 6 days earlier at William and Mary college. I was only 16 and chills went up my spine when he walked on stage! My first of many JB concerts! Orleans opened for him. Those were the good ol' days!

What gift to be able hear Jackson's concert from 1976 when he was first starting out. Thank you for sharing this. Sound quality and video is amazing. I was never able to have experience a live concert when he was just starting out. I was in junior high and and too young to even be aware of his music till I was in my late teens. This performance is so true to that all the albums I have. It's incredible how he captured the songs from his albums so accurately in these early live concerts. So talented and so ahead of his time profound lyrics that I begin to understand more and more the older I get.

Besides being a great singer, songwriter and entertainer, he had, in his youth, the prettiest lips I've ever seen on a man.

I really miss seeing Jackson Browne in Concert. First time I saw him was Tulsa OK for the Karen Silkwood benefit and it was the late show he played two in a night, such fine music, I will be happy about that night forever. We left at 2am and he was still playing, what a night what a night. SO MUCH Love, where are you Jackson Browne ?

Saturate Before Using has christened every home or apartment that I have lived in. First Lp, CD or iTunes album played fully through as I put stuff away. Decade after decade, place after place. Moved into my current home twice, once in the fall of ‘95 and again in the spring of 2010, and of course I turned it on and Saturated Before Using my home.

An ardent fan. Love his work.

Beyond just lyrics....and notes...clyde jb grabs you by your soul

I wasn't at this concert, but I still have my ticket stub from his concert that year in Toledo, Ohio. It cost me $7.50 and was well worth the $1.60 minimum wage I was making at Burger Chef! Doctor My Eyes, Running on Empty (tour album) and Stay were highlights from my memory.

Wow just stumbled upon this. Jackson Browne is such a great songwriter and has featured so many great players on his albums and his touring band. Always great to see him playing live with the great David Lindley. A friend convinced me to go and see him when he was touring The Pretender in Sydney January 1977. I became a lifelong fan after that show. Maria Muldaur opened for him that night and she was great.

He was great at such a young age.’people don’t realize that when they see him today or a few years ago.

The Capitol was a great venue. My friend was a bouncer there so we got into most concerts for free. There was a constant flow of joints during the concerts. Those were the best days of my life. I was heartbroken when the Capitol Theater closed and was later demolished. I guess all good things must come to an end. Concerts now are like more than 10 X the cost of what tickets went for back then. But then again, who wants to go to a concert and see the crap that’s out there now anyway. Peace to all my brothers and sisters from back then. And JB, thanks for the great sound track to my life. Keep the music coming!
