Aside from my loving Jackson for his dedication to causes such as this , which is personal for me, I love him for being a walking, living , and talking historian of American Pop/Rock/ Americana. He has always been the walking around , real life , go to guy , if you were to ask him anything about Classic Rock . He is like an encyclopedia.

Thanks for helping; hoping this school is loving, supportive and teaches crucial social skills. I could never figure out why my father rarely showed love for me, no matter how hard I tried. Then at age 42, I accidentally found his veteran medical records from 1963, with a diagnosis of autism! All the pieces suddenly fell into place (but wish I'd known and understood as a teen. A good man, tough life).

i was in a hyperbaric chamber a week ago, getting my PPL finally, at almost 64. Our doctor was watching over us in the chamber and i spoke with him after and he is working on a project with kids with different degrees of autism. i don’t have autistic kids but my son gives me plenty of bang for bringing him into this world. i wanted a couple of children and finally did at 39. i loved being pregnant, loved every minute of raising them. i cherish moments with them. happy, sad, ups and downs and everything in between ween. what specimens we all are and the dynamics. your songwriting is deep and from the heart. i admire that. especially when you want to tell a story but are limited to 3-4 minutes. i say, hell with that. my kids roll their eyes when i try to impart knowledge i’ve learnt and the mistakes i made but i learnt from. so this doc was young and i gave him some pointers in dealing with kids that have worked for me. i try not to say no, cause that, for me conveys i don’t approve or having some control over them. so, i just say, maybe we can do that next time or divert their attention to something they love or connect with. My kids in their 20s still look at my finger puppets like they’re real, a way to convey knowledge or be silly, works every time. i adore kids young or older. i feel for the older ones but things will get brighter for them cause its a guaranteed promise from our creator. he wants to help us, heal us, everlasting life on earth and exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. Love and Justice prevails for all. No more sickness or getting old, we’ll all be young again but still have the know and continue to grow, never die. Everyone who wants to live in a peacefull world will have the opportunity, even ones who have died. Jackson, i saw you in concert in 1982 while i lived in orlando, florida briefly. i was only 24th. Fast forward to May 12 in vancouver bc and i saw you perform your songs and also with james taylor. everyone behaved like in a huge living room. older crowd, it was a real treat. at this time in my life ive payed more attention to lyrics even though its the melody that grabs me. i was impressed. went down to everyday music in bellingham, wa to buy your cds. it was like a plant parched needing water. i do listen to a plethora of music but was really ......struck ......like a magnet....wanted to hear your stories.....it was enthralling. so now i have the opportunity to see you in washington state for about 4 concert dates in september. hopefully i wont have to work....looking forward to meeting you and sharing some ideas that would be awesome. i love violin, took about 2 years of lessons but im dying to learn the cello. i love the cello, such deep rich tones, deep from the heart, how it conveys such richness, even a moaning which can be happy or sad or just deeper meaning. keep up the fantastic playing and singing. i love all the songs and “here” i cant get enough of. time goes by so fast.

I would like to add my thanks for supporting that school and people in the autistic spectrum. Though my younger son always showed great intelligence and talent (highschool and college musicals, college opera, and of course rock music) a car accident in 2014 left him with a brain injury, and the latest neuro-psychology evaluation places his continued difficulties in that spectrum. Signs from his past show that he was probably always a "high functioning" autistic, something more people could be aware of if proper help is given at an earlier age.
@stargazer6753
@stargazer6753 2 жыл бұрын
@@douglas_drew I understand. My son wasn’t diagnosed until he was 20. He was in special ed , with no direction. You could call him high functioning or with Aspergers which is a lot harder to explain to the uninitiated. My son has great insight into things before I do, but he cannot handle conversation (outside of family) or the day to day things that keep life humming. He is not some sort of genius or savant as some people report, but he has a fantastic memory of facts to anything he has had contact with, except for public school. What he remembers, he did on his own. As I am aging, I use him as my walking dictionary, supplying me with all of the facts ,dates and names. Sometimes it is like the game of 20 questions, because I know everything except the name of whatever it is. In his case, it was something that he was born with. He would NOT make eye contact as a nursing newborn and later had language and communication problems. Now he is approaching his mid forties, and in many ways , he is a blessing.

1st thing I noticed...i remember the excitement of sliding vinyl out of that sleeve after sneaking up to the "attic room" (the domain of the oldest sibling remaining at home out of the 10 of us) to delight in the only dimly understood but still magical and compelling lyrics (I was probably 13 only 14).
