Singer/songwriter Jackson Browne backed by Lucius performs Willin' for A Tribute To The Music Of Linda Ronstadt live in concert at The Theater at Ace Hotel, Los Angeles, CA on December 11, 2016. From Linda Ronstadt's 1974 album Heart Like A Wheel , Willin' was written by George Lowell of Little Feat. 100% of the concert proceeds benefits to the Michael J. Jackson could have been a chart topper a heart stopper but a man of vision for causes that really really matter and the world is a much better place for this musically talent icon that I had the private of hearing this man perform at the Rocks. Keep on keeping on.

Let us not forget that it was the great Lowell George who wrote this song. He was a very close friend to Jackson, and Jackson wrote a wonderful song about him, when he died, titled " Of Missing Persons". One of the sweetest lyrics in the song is about Lowell's daughter, " And you the little girl child ". ( 5 years old ) . They remain friends to this day. Inara George.

I got the sailin' shoes album in I believe 1974. Little Feat had kind of an "underground" following in Brooklyn, NY where I grew up. Been singing, playing (on guitar) and listening to this song ever since.

Wow, Lowell George-Little Feat song, elevated to cult status by Linda Ronstadt( with coaching from Lowell on how to sing it), covered by Jackson Browne,( one of the truly great song smiths of the boomer generation). Saw Jackson at Red Rocks Aug. 2016, wish I could have been at this. Love Linda in all of her productions since late 60's, love Jackson in all of his great songs since mid 60's. Fab talents, that comes around only too fleeting,

Jackson actually recorded this song recently for the soundtrack to the Showtime series "Roadies." He even sang it live and appeared on the show's season finale. Sounded awesome and a fitting tribute to Lowell.

Mel Bee. And Jackson has been promoting Lowell and Warren in his concerts for many many years from the time he was around 26. Isn't that amazing? The only person I know of that would do the same for Jackson Browne is Gregg Allman. Basically, on Gregg's deathbed , he asked Jackson to perform with him " Adam's Song " in honor of his brother Duane. That was the fourth Jackson Browne song that Gregg had recorded during his lifetime.

Thanks for posting; it is so great to see the music community rally around when of them is in need of help and support. Also, I just saw Jackson Browne this week, he's a great performer, a natural entertainer and above all, a real gentleman who's still humble and "ordinary" despite his fame, success and wealth over the years.

As an important contributor Mel Bee said, it is not George Lowell , but Lowell George. Just want you to get the facts straight, Cal Vid, no harm meant. Jackson put in some time promoting Lowell , actually his entire musical lifetime , as seen in "Roadies" , along with Warren Zevon, both of which he worked into "Roadies" with Cameron Crow.

Jackson has collaborated with many fine musicians. He’s especially close to those who were paying their dues while he was coming up. Linda, for example. I remember listening to her after a break-up; vowed never to do that again, she was so genuine in singing what I felt.

Just finished watching the PBS broadcast of the AARP Movie Awards for Grownups (Yup, that's what they call them!) and saw Ms. Ronstadt accept the award for Best Movie Documentary from Maria Muldaur. Rightly so, the audience gave her a standing ovation with rousing applause that went on and on and on. Her speech was so poignant. She said most members of the rock and roll generation didn't think they'd make it to 73, she mentioned Vietnam, drug overdoses and AIDS. She said it was a privilege to make it to the point where one can complain about old age. I read where she said this would probably be the last major public event she could attend as it is now just too painful to travel. Guess one should never say never, but I said a private good-bye and thank you to Ms. Ronstadt for every note she ever sang for us to enjoy and to use to help our hearts thrive and survive. When the show was over, I turned to KZfaq to remember and revel in a little Ronstadt magic and found this. More than any award, having friends like this-loyal, loving, humble and generous-is the greatest prize she could ever earn. My favorite version of this song was the one she did during a benefit for Lowell George's family soon after his passing. What goes around, comes around. Godspeed Linda Maria Ronstadt.

@@rixtrixs Yep, you are correct. Sorry about that, she was invited to sing on a tribute album to her good friend Jackson Browne in 2012 and turned it down, she couldn't at that point. If I am not mistaken (again!) her last professional singing was "All I know" with Jimmy Webb on his 2010 released album.
