@@davigoncalo92 If you are gong to change the pickups and the bridge I would just invest in a higher quality one. I've been playing guitar for 35 yrs if that matters at all for an opinion. The point to my original reply was these hold up to the higher quality Jacksons, best bang for the buck. Set up properly (the real key) the trem stays in tune as well as a real floyd.

I own several Jackson's including a few JS32 models. The company has great customer service and my JS32's are very good guitars. I hate when snobs dis inexpensive guitars as "Good for the price" or "Okay for a beginner". I've seen guys play circles around others on an inexpensive guitar and sound great. Thanks for the video. One thing on mine is replace is the lock nut, when I really dump it down I get a slight click on the b and e clamp so I think it’s slipping the strings a bit through that locking nut, also the fine tuners are rough on the thread to turn, they work fine but feel rough so I put a dab if Vaseline on each thread. The trem seems great for my level of skill it stays in tune and maybe if it wears I’ll put an upgrade in but it’s awesomely fun for now the guitar itself I paid £100 pre owned and like new other than dust and needing restring and clean up but it’s an amazing guitar to play the neck is awesome, I think I’d deffo look at the locking nut clamp first, and it’s worth putting new pickups in and new trem later on all day. Sick guitar, mines satin black arch top

the only thing i dislike of those model is the PU switch, is located there so far and more towards the bridge. Thats makes it hard to switch for solo when you want to play with the voicing, and if you have a guitar with more that one pick up, you will definetly want to do it

I just picked up a refurbished JS32 DKA in Pavo Purple finish as a backup guitar for only $199. I love it. I have played Ibanez RG series almost exclusively for 23 years, and my main guitar in my cover band is an Ibanez Premium RG1070FM, which is currently getting warranty repairs done on the fretboard. I am blown away by the fantastic value this Jackson offers. I'm seeing them selling new (December) for $269 on sale with open box models as low as $239. It's ridiculous. Yes, the tremolo knife edges will wear out in a few years, but it's an easy part to replace, as the Original Floyd Rose and most licensed Floyd Rose trems will fit in the route. I still prefer Ibanez designs (especially the neck joint of their bolt-on models), but I'm going to give Jacksons a lot more attention the next time I'm in the market to buy a guitar. The only complaint I have is that the pickups squeal even with moderate gain when using the OD1 and OD2 channels of my Blackstar tube amp. None of my other guitars' pickups do that, but they have high-end DiMarzios and Seymour Duncans, not rebadged flea market humbuckers. For practicing at home, I can live with it, but I'd have to throw at least $100 into pickups to make it gig-worthy.
@mineyouto
@mineyouto 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Tim I'm glad you like the guitar just as much as idea. The pick up squill I don't notice that could be because I don't own a black star. Or with yours being refurbish they might not have done the best job with the rewiring. Eventually this guitar will get new pickups I'm thinking about Seymour Duncan blackouts. By the way you got a good deal on this guitar.
@tjborekvideo
@tjborekvideo 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I sure did get a great deal. By trading in some old accessories I don't use any more, the shop gave me $80 trade credit toward the Jackson and gigbag, so my final cost for the guitar and basic gigbag was only $150. I'm pleased with my purchase. This guitar's already got me thinking of trading my Ibanez toward a Jackson Soloist SL3 in the Dark Amber finish.

Looks great. I have 2 Japanese Jackson at home. An DXMG with active EMG-s, body made from alder (made before 2006). It is the best feeling axe i've ever owned. My other Jackson is a Fusion SX Professional from 1993, her body was made from linden. Very light-weight instrument, but her sound its incredible. Front PU a Dimarzio PAF, the bridge PU was changed for Dimarzio Megadrive. She is an awesome sport-shred guitar. I was looking for the JS32 before i bought my first Jackson, but i think the old japanese-made Jacksons are way well-builted and have better quality, as the new ones (especially Indian made JS32). But that 's just my opinion, so i was bought a used one. Ridiculously their price are the same, at least here in Europe. The price of the DXMG was 340-350 bucks with an ESP hard case :) :)

Maybe I’m a fucking wizard but my js34q in transparent purple has a licensed Floyd rose that gives me zero problems, yes I’ve changed tunings multiple times and done string changes of different gauges. It plays great, comes right back in tune and I really beat the fuck out of it. 10/10 for these Jackson’s. Just like any Floyd rose. If you set them up right they’re great. I like my js34q so much that I bought a white js22 that I’ve been modding. Done a neck pickup delete, new paintjob(I only did a splatter of neon yellow, green, and navy blue) it’s getting a Floyd rose here soon and it’s gonna be getting Seymour Duncan pickups ain’t with Grover locking tuners. These Jackson’s are perfect for modding in my opinion. They’re cheap and super comfortable. They play great stock but there’s so much you can do to them to make them your own and make them even better. They’re a blank canvas in my opinion.

I bought 2 of these also. Great beginner or beater axe. A few things i dont like. The fretboard hangs out beyond the neck at fret 23 & 24? must be a 22 fret neck with 24 fret fingerboard?? The tuners are pretty bad, but the locking nut keeps things in check. Frets were rough when new, they need a little polishing, no big deal. The locking nut sticks out a little on one side. The cheap floyd is working fine for now. Couple minor flaws on body not sanded out before paint. overall great deal at $269 price i paid for em in fall of 2022 for the satin black version. I notice the fretboard is slightly warped where it hangs over neck on one of em. I just got these 2 at the same time from Amazon few weeks ago in early September, we'll see how well they hold up? Great video, Thanks.

I'm a guitar luthier and it is always trem setup or worn trem knife edge on the trem or the posts or both. The trem should be level with the body and not pitch forward or backward. Also Jackson sells guitars with 9-42 for a reason on trem guitars. I've been playing for 35 years and have a lot of experience with floyd styled trems. I see many video reviews on KZfaq and see "Junk! Doesn't stay in tune for sh**" and I own the same guitars and they stay in tune. The sad truth is many "techs" don't know how to set upo a floyd style trem. A trem stop will cure your ills but not if you like to flutter the trem or pull up on it.

I have a Blackstar HT Club 40 MKII combo, and the OD2 voice on the Overdrive channel is awesome for metal. It tightens up the bass and boosts the upper mids. With the poplar body on this guitar, the tone is really clear through that amp in a band mix. Really versatile amp with four distinct tones, since it has two modes per channel. I use the optional Blackstar FS-14 footswitch, which gives each Overdrive voices its own button, plus a 6dB volume boost for solos, and Reverb on/off switch (not included on the standard 2-button footswitch).

Quick question, I don’t have a gutair or played any instrument before I was looking into gutair and was wondering if I were to get this exact gutair would I need a amp or something like that or can I learn straight out the box?
@mineyouto
@mineyouto 3 жыл бұрын
You dont need a amp it will still work without one. It will just be the strings that you will hear. It sounds like a really quite acoustic guitar. You would still need to get a tuner so you learn to play in tune. But yes you can play without an amp.

I never had any guitars in my life and I’m about to buy a JS22 , do you thinks it’s great guitar ? Or should I save up some more and buy the JS32 ? :)
@mineyouto
@mineyouto 4 жыл бұрын
If its your first guitar i would get the js22 just because it has a standard trem setup, itwill be easier to change strings on and will be less of a head ache when learning how to tune your guitar. And in theory it should stay in tune better.

I have a question. I have JS22, same pickups and wood. On open 6 string with distortion it sounds bad, anything else is good but open 6 string sounds bad. Have you the same problem or maybe problem in amp? I don't switch stings or anything else.
@mineyouto

It could be the set up. I would start with new strings. If that dose not fix it. I would try adjusting the set up or have a guitar tech do it all music shops have a tech that could adjust for you.

It’s a real pathetic bridge. The guitar is actually pretty damn good for the price. The pickups and playability is good. The licensed Floyd rose is pathetic. Can’t beat it. It’ll go out of tune or it will raise in tune. You can use it but, if your a guy that likes to use it a lot and use it heavily... it’ll disappoint you. I had that guitar. I sold it after a year of playing it, then bought a USA series Soloist. My dream guitar. Best guitar ever. That guitar is butter

I dont know much about the Ibanez guitars. But with the Jacksons they are both good guitars and are not over priced. I would get the one with the style of bridge you want. Floyd rose beidges can be hard to work on but are fun to play around with. A hard tail bridge is easier but gives you less opinions.

Locking floyd type bridges can usually be set up with 9's or 10's,..or hybrid set,.....but anything from like 8 to 46 should work,.....it you tune a full step down 'D to D' you may want to go with 10's though

@@mineyouto You could well be right, I was just a bit surprised. I just bought a JS32 (King V) but I do believe this one is basswood or poplar. From what I understand the type of wood does not matter has much as the quality which Jackson seems to be pretty good with. The lighter the basswood the better it is likely to sound and straight out of the box I find the JS32 to sound quite amazing for a guitar this light and relatively cheap.
