Good video, the only thing that I changed was installing the chain at the back of the crossbar (centered but a few inches from wing nut) and higher up on back leg . Chain is out of the way and it looks better (IMHO).

stick a small cheap spirit level bubble to the canvas holder, that way you can set it up dead level. Also put the groove upwards to stop the canvas slipping about. Dave.

The hardest part is screwing the chain in! I wanted to see that part. There's no hole.

The wood is pretty soft....if you take a braddle and hammer and make a little dent in the wood it should be fairly easy to screw into the wood. Good luck and let us know if you have any difficulty...

thank you young lady, but think about the screw in the horizontal forward piece to mount it the other way, so you get nothing sticking out and may disturb you. Regards from Sweden

Might be better to thread the long bolt (for the two pieces of wood to hold the canvas) from the front. Then you don't have the wing nut sticking out at front.

I don't think so...do you mean you think legs should be at the back and one at the front? Some easels are assembled like that but this one isn't, you would not be able to attach the ledge to the one front leg.
