I was surprised by the stock pickups on my warrior. Surprisingly good, but the Duncan Designed pickups on my Soloist are better imo.

for real, any tonal changes I need is well achieved through pedals anyway.

Most jackson pickups sounds medium, just like any cheap guitar you bought from AliExpress, original Seymour Duncan pick-ups however are maxed out that's why that pickup is so unique it's more heavier and the sustain is very high.

The Duncan JB is possibly the most popular pickup of all time, yet some can't get on with it, not liking the high/mid attack or the often loose and muddy low end. I don't like DiMarzio EVO 2 because it really does give you Steve Vai's awful helium huffing tone, but thousands still want to sound like Steve for some reason!

They did for sure but the Fishmans are cleaner

It is a friends guitar. I installed the fishmans for him. I will ask him if can do some more video with his guitar.

The guitar was only $279. The pick ups cost more that the guitar did.

Ahh the Duncan Full Shred, another classic lazy Seymour Duncan repackaging of an existing pickup. I like the bridge, but the neck is just a Jazz model with a more modern look. Lazy Seymour, lazy. Personally I've found the Pearly Gates to be much more in line with the Full Shred bridge or JB, having a similar crunchy high gain tone instead of the too clean Jazz wind.

Pickups are really just personal preference but a First act on a 5150, I might have to try that. 🤔

I actually prefer Duncan JBs myself, I'm just saying with that much gain the stock Jackson pickups or already high output for a "stock" set that comes with the guitar. I own 3 warriors and the stock set in my MIJ x series is pretty close to the Js32 I have and the king Vs have JBs because your correct they are preference but when you have a head like that you can get so much gain out of it that its gonna make damn near anything sound like that. I did enjoy the video though.

Pretty well for a Jackson branded floyd. With a good set up it stays in tune.

The Fishman kit comes with new pots & guitar cable plug in. No soldering required.

@@tomlewis4743 by the way, was it a direct fit? or did you have to modify the cavity in any way? (both the pickup cavity, and the backplate cavity) basically, could the wiring and pickups drop directly in without enlarging any cavities?

@@kenjicarlos8402 Yes they fit directly. No mods needed to install the pickup. There was room in the backplate for the battery.
