Yes understandable, our local zoo is non profit and had suffered during the pandemic also. People we need to stand together and support the wonderful conservation work these places provide. Support your local zoo's and aquarium. Join, donate do what you can.

I feel sorry for this little zoo because, in my opinion, it has a lot going for it. It has a good collection of animals, the animals are in very good condition, exhibits are not only in good shape… I like that they seem to be well themed. Honestly. I think it looks better than a few other places you’ve visited. The signage on the exhibits is better maintained and presented. I wish this little zoo lots of luck !

I really like this video thanks foryour great work documenting this zoo as it is a special place for me because my mom and dad grew up very close to the zoo and cedar lawn cemetery. I was born in 1963at the Baptist hospital in Jackson and during the first few years of m life my mom and one of my grandfathers took me here and that's were I learned to walk, my dad was in the Marine Corps and we lived inHawaii between 66 and 68, but when he went to Vietnam in 68 he sent my mom with us three kids back to lve in Jacksonwe lived in a house on dale court in the neighborhood north of hawkins airfield which is located juct north of the Jackson zoo, and during 68 and 69 we spent many days at the zoo with my grandpwrentsand the sounds on your video are vey familiar to me. I enjoyed your narative, but would you upload another video with about an hour of nothing except the sounds of the birds an other animals? you should do one of those relaxing sounds to sleep to recordings. Do you think that after 53 years they still have many of the same species?.Interestinglysince my stroke in 2015 my senses are in hyper drive and certain sounds, smells, or tastes will immediatly bring me back to a time in my life and this video brings me back to maybe the happiest time of my lfe, So thanks a lot man, As I was listening to th sounds all of a sudden the Beatles Hey Jude popped into my head.it really discover the Beatles until i was a teenager in the mid 70s, but back in 68 an 69 Hey jude was constantly on the car radio, and too many times my mom would be driving us back home after a day at the zoo driving north on Boling street and we would all be sing Hey Jude as it was on the radio again, later as a teenager I was able to make the connection , but seriously you video brought back great memories for me even though things have changed. the zoo was closed for the day the last time I visited Jackson back in 2013 bt we went to eat at Two Sister's Kitchen over on Congress street for some of the best fried chicken in th ubited states.But you don't live in Jackson do you? thanks again and next time you go to Jackson check out Two Sister's kitchen park at the state capitol building and walk a few blocks, It's really good food.what state do you live in?

Actually you did see the red river hogs when you showed the zebras the second time there were some orange creatures in the background and those were the red river hogs

You made a mistake! 24:27 You though it was the antilope, but in fact, theses are the red river hogs. :D i can recognize them wit their little fluffy things on their ears. :D

Hey Tom! I just finished this video last night, and I really enjoyed it! Despite the conditions they’re in, it’s still a good Zoo! The animals look well looked after and at the end of the day, that’s all that matters! I really enjoyed the Reptile House at 5:56, my favourite were the different varieties of rattlesnakes. 🐍 You said you didn’t see the red River hogs but at one point you did. It was at 24:28. You mistaked them for antelope. You also called the nênê goose a nênê duck at 10:54 when it’s a goose, easy mistake to make since the signage didn’t specify, but I wanted to correct you all the same. Also the owl at 15:34 is a great horned owl 👍. All in all: Good Zoo, I’m confident that they’ll bring the Zoo back to its former glory! PS: Sorry for the late comment Tom, I’ve been working a fair bit and I had a few evaluations at school this week so I had to study for those. One of which I did pretty good and one I’m still waiting for the results. After work ( 2:30-10:30 ), I’ll start this week’s video👍. Looking forward to your reply!

Hello. Have you visit other zoos in the US such as the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, IL and Memphis Zoo in Memphis, TN? You should visit the Birdhouse in Lincoln Park Zoo as an example of bird habitats.

I don't feel like zoos should charge regular admission prices with so many empty exhibits/closures. Kinda takes the fun out of the experience...especially for the little ones. We still enjoyed watching,tho 😊
