on JackSucksAtGeography we upload a range of easy to watch geography related games. We mainly play Sporcle games like "naming all 197 countries". I successfully learned all 197 countries and plan to learn more Geography trivia. On this channel I also play Geoguessr. This is a game that uses Google Street View to drop you in a random location and you have to work out exactly where you are on the worldwide map. Geoguessr was created in 2013. If you want to see more from Jack he uploads different content to many other KZfaq channels, linked above!

Conclusion: Countries closer to poles are bigger than what it seems, but countries closer to the equator are more accurate.

@@benjaminhansen4370 It actually kinda is a country, though not fully. Also referred to as a constituent country, in this case yes being part of the "Kingdom of Denmark". Greenland themselves does have homerule, ie. they manage just about everything going on inside Greenland themselves, only relying on the Danish Parliament for things like foreign policy, defense etc. They also at any time do have a standing offer that would allow them to get full independence if they so desire, but obviously they haven't taken that offer yet, as they still are not quite ready for it, for a multitude of reasons. And that is just the short version, it is kinda complicated, and I probably don't even know the whole story either, despite being a Dane myself

Ppl got so used to Mercator projection really distorts the size of things in the polarvregions. It's why I love equal area projections. I've checked several different ones of those, I find the goode'S homolosine distorts the least. They all distorts bc you're trying to image a sphere in flat form, but the Goodes from what I have seen distorts the least.

Btw this website is pretty inaccurate. It scales the countries based on where their middle is, instead of where there borders are. You can see this by moving the US and then moving a US state and trying to like it up with where is belongs. It doesn’t fit because the website is slightly inaccurate. Still a very cool website though
