Watching people who’re skilled at their craft, no matter what it is, is so amazing. Back throughout the 90s I used to work on a onshore lobster boat, I was the bander and I baited the traps. I remember it got so foggy out that you could not see three to four feet in front of you and we had to shut everything down and continuously blow the horn, the water was as smooth as glass at those times. I used to load the boat up with the bait ( 4 55 gallon drums of strung flounder) 👍🏻 that's one job that I really enjoyed 👍🏻 I am definitely going to subscribe to this 👍🏻❤️👍🏻

Lmao I love the comparison between the working pace/methods and the methods when you're showing off a unique catch. I knew lobsters were probably more hardy than you treat them in the individual vids but this definitely seems more accurate to what they can handle. Well i bet u never been on a lobsta boat! Never i said. So he took . Me down to the dock. The water was like ice still as could be. Chug chug chug went the engine. I felt like Katherine Hepburn on the African Queen. It was magical. The kindness heartwarming. What an amazing legacy to be a lobster fisherman guy. Not alot different than my dad a midwestern farmer. The weather the boat/tractor the hard work feeding people. Noble. Thankyou!

@silvergalaxia8538
@silvergalaxia8538 11 ай бұрын
Lobsters that are undersized or female breeders will get thrown back. There is a hand measure that is used to determine exact length, but once you've been doing it a while you can tell when one is obviously too short. If a female with eggs is caught then you put a V-shaped notch in its right tailfin so that other fisherman will no to throw them back in the future.

My uncles, grandfather and cousins were Newfoundland fishermen. My cousins were during the summer months, as they went to school. I grew up next door to Maine, in New Brunswick and an ex beau was from Prince Edward Island so I can say I have been out on a fishing boat or two. It is interesting how you have it so streamlined there. I also know over on Prince Edward Island several of the lobster fishermen will take tourists out Mackerel fishing when Lobster isn’t in season. I believe they even provide Rod and reel if you didn’t bring. We always brought. They provided bait.
