Let me know if there's a specific console from the Hampton Haul that you want to see repaired in a future video! I won't be able to attempt repair on all of them, because I frankly don't have time (there were like 20 broken consoles). But I will try to do a video on another ~2-3 consoles.

It would definitely be nice to see you attempt to fix at least one of the PS2's since you repair a lot of 360's, PS3's, and Wiis, so seeing a PS2 repair would be a nice change.

Honestly I don’t really have any plans to do these types of videos regularly. They just take forever to make, with all of the issues you run into with broken consoles, and I just don’t enjoy it as much as making the other types of videos. I’d say my typical enjoyment level making videos is like 8/10, while making long repair videos is like a 4/10 lol

You have many broken 360, take the driver out of it(samsung), read the key from the broken one and flash it to an working one. It’s so easy and saves a lot of time.

I repair 360s all the time, I don't even know why he was pulling the sides. You're supposed to pop the sides off with a poking tool that pops the clips holding them on, while pulling on the side panels lightly so they don't slip back on the clips. Interesting tactic, given the fact that he has the proper tools to do the job.

I actually have that connector issue with my Xbox One, and I’m not kidding here, it’s because my cat ran into it while I had it disassembled. I sync the controllers via USB and have to turn the unit on via controller. The reason I had it disassembled? It’d had difficulties reading games for a while until one day, it not only refused to read the game, but it refused to give it back. I disassembled the unit to get the game back. Didn’t figure out why the optical drive stopped working, but now it’s sitting in the attic with the OG Xbox 360 back on its throne, with its successor in my brother’s apartment.

you can also touch the electronics near the connector on xbox 360 slim to turn it on, helpful when diagnosing systems since you dont have to connect the front plate

7:52 a fun thing that people do with the proprietary connector is remove it and solder a pcb with a usb port and add up to 2tb internally. However it only works when you do rgh/jtag. Also about the soldered memory, it’s only corona consoles that have the soldered 4gb Emmc unless the console came with a hdd out of the box then it will be a normal 16mb nand.

seeing how brittle the plastic is getting on older x-box 360 consoles like that first one with the og dashboard only makes me wonder how much of a nightmare it will be to deal with the plastic pieces in cars breaking when trying to repair them like taking apart the dash to work on the hvac system etc even on relatively recent cars from the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s which are cars i grew up seeing all over the place as regular daily drivers

I got an OG Xbox console, all of the games, a dance pad, controllers all for free. I was standing behind a woman in line at GameStop, she had a big black trash bag in her hand. She pulled an original Xbox out and they told her they don't take them anymore. I spoke up and asked her about it, she just handed me the bag and told me I saved her a trip to goodwill. That was so awesome of her. I was collecting at the time and didn't have a lot of money, so it was such a huge score.

I don't bother with no unclip tool. Unclip the front side, flip it upside down, grab the front side and just open it up like a book. If you warm up the plastic case, less chance of cracking that old boy.

Ive got into rgh'ing recently like mentioned previously. The corona 4 gigs I believe you cant remove the flash memory. The trinity the flash can always be removed if i'm not mistaken.

the reason the case broke on the blades one, is because you're doing it wrong there are holes in the case for ventilation, and to poke a screwdriver or a tool at the clip to unhook it.

Lmao Its funny the fact that i already knew about if you touch the ribbon connector on the xbox one it turns on and ejects the disc, all because my mom a long time ago threw the xbox in rage and broke the ribbon cable and ive never been able to get the replacement, so ive been using the xbox just like that ever since

In the same boat... so you're saying just look for the drive specific lens? Where do you buy the specific bands for the drives? i did the boiling water trick and it kinda helped.. but i dont want to get them from ebay

They have them on Amazon as well. Just search for Xbox 360 drive belt or band. Most of them are fine… in my experience they’re never as good as the oem one though. Better than having a stuck disc drive though

No, you can't use 360 controllers on Xbox One. But hyperkin has made one for the Xbox One and Series consoles.

you can fix that original rubber band by putting it in boiling water for couple minutes.

1:14 How do you open it? That doesn't looks right. You never bend it like you did. You use the small holes to open it. Same at 11:58, you use too much force. That is ABS plastic and it should be that brittle, so i assume the age has make it brittle.

Yes that’s why I had the VO explaining it like 30 seconds later. That first Xbox 360 had something going on with it and would not open via the holes. There was one clip that would not release, so I attempted to get it from another angle. The other 360 was opened the same way everyone opens them, and the same way I’ve opened hundreds, It’s just brittle now. Opening the old 360s just puts a lot of pressure on the plastic since everything is just held together via clips. I’ve seen this happen with a handful of 360s over the past year, and I’m assuming I’ll start seeing a lot more of these as the years go on
