Great stuff! I switched to 24 for the "cinematic" look for a year, and the problems I had with mixing varying frame rates far out-weighed any benefits I found with 24. It's just too hard to work with when you have multiple video sources of different settings.

Great explanation! As I live in Denmark, I naturally began shooting in 25p when I started filming my surroundings. Transitioning from a GoPro with built-in horizontal stabilisation to a Sony camera with only SteadyShot, I noticed that 25p footage seemed a bit choppy. Thankfully, I received advice to record in 30p and then slow it down to 24p, resulting in smoother playback. Since Sony cameras adhere strictly to either NTSC or PAL standards, I switched all my cameras to NTSC. However, during editing, I set the timeline to 24p, meaning I have to bid farewell to shooting in 25p and 50p for the time being.

Beast of a video. Love the tips and real life examples that look stunning (which makes it immediately believable that the tips are legit) , and when to use what. Subbed!

Very interesting. I'm a (very) amateur underwater film-maker and frame rate is definitely one of the topics I need info on. Like a lot of people I had assumed that faster is better, but that's patently not true after watching this. tbh I even wondered why there were options for 24 and 25 fps, so you cleared that up too. thanks.
