I mean Kotobukiya looks really good. But the Jada one looks more in scale even with other Kotobukiya Mega-men

The new kotobukiya one is taller because he's based on Mega Man 11 artwork, it is supposed to scale as that. Jada toys based their Mega Man from 1-6, which is why he's shorter

Kotobukiya makes super high quality figures, but Jada provides almost everything you get out of a Kotobukiya figure at a third or even 5th the cost, you might be missing out on the larger form factor, the experience of a Model Kit or the higher quality in general, but 20 bucks is nothing to scoff at

Dude I'm so glad you noticed! I love when people recognize the music I use in my videos. The artist I use tracks from doesn't have any Megaman tracks so I figured the FFVII music would be a good track since it's a Vs video. I appreciate you!

I have the 4 Inch Nel Megaman and he's been my main classic Megaman on the shelf, don't think I need this Jada Megaman but would be nice to see a full comparison between the 4 inch Nel and Jada Megaman.

So unfortunately I don't have the 4 inch Nel of Megaman. I do have the 4 inch Nel of Megaman.EXE though. If you're familiar with that one compared to OG Megaman, then I could show some comparison photos, but beyond that I'm sorry I can't be more helpful. I'll poke around eBay and see if I can find a reasonably priced one though. If I can then I'll be sure to let you know!

i think it knocks the sentinel out of the park and that's coming from someone who owns every megaman toy since 1992. i always wanted megaman in this particular style, and to think a company in the states made it at only $20 is insane. the more support they get the more likely it is to get more robot masters and characters.

@@adambutterline5305 Honestly Jada is absolutely killing it. I think if they can squeeze either more Capcom characters(to help us keep going after MvC displays) or even get Mortal Kombat then they would be a real powerhouse.

My problem with both them are their scaling if you stand them beside Kotobukiya Megaman X, the scsize of their head look too off. About the Pros, JADA TOYS have a huge list of meganan character and durabilty, while the Kotobukiya have a lot more accesories, and better design.

Well I think Megaman has always had a slightly oversized head too though. So to me that actually works. I'm definitely really interested to see what else Jada comes out with. I've really loved everything they've done so far. I also did the Megaman EXE kit and can't wait for them to release more characters from the EXE series. That's my favorite Megaman!

@@ComicallyToys but the height of the all the Kotobukiya Megaman X and Kotobukiya Classic Megaman is the same, that's why it looks off.

Speaking of a Marvel vs Capcom display. Anyone making/made a Strider Hiryu? Amaterasu? Those I'd be all over! Hagar and Cody would be tempting, too. And (Arthur?) of Ghouls & Ghosts would be nifty.. I need to look up the rosters of the games and would probably come up with even more names I'd like to see in action figure form.

Man I've been wanting a Strider as well! But no, I haven't seen any of the characters you've mentioned yet. I saw a custom Strider, but that was about it. I'd LOVE a Captain Commando. I never played his game, but always thought he looked awesome and had sweet moves.

The figures are based on Kenji Inafune’s art for the series, which is used in promotional material for all the 8 bit games, including 9 and 10. That art style also inspired be OVA. As well, the alternate heads are meant to replicate the cleaner PS1 era Complete Works style that can be seen on the box, which is why Ice Man’s eyes change between figures. TL;DR, they share the same origin art style

I have been using D-arts Rockman for my Capcom shelf, I was thinking of getting Megaman 11 Kotobukiya but after looking at your videos, I realize that it's way too big for my collection lol.

Huhh... just starting my first playthrough of OG FFVII on steam and had been listening to some of the songs from the game. What are the chances. The model is beautiful, but honestly the Jada one will do for my purposes, especially given the price and the fact that they're doing way more characters. Played the Willey Wars to death on genesis as a kid, so I'm all in on Jada. Thanks for the great comparisons though. Great info to have.

Actually I legit just started my own first play through of it as well! I just got a Steam Deck OG(I upgraded to 2TB SSD) and loaded a bunch of games. I did FFVII with a ton of graphics mods, but not gameplay mods and I've been having a great time with it. Currently at the Golden Saucer bit. I'm glad you recognized the music! And yeah the Jada is definitely SOLID especially considering the price point. I think if the model kit was closer to $40 it would be much more appealing for fans, but it's nice to have options anyway! I'm interested in the other recently announced kit coming out later too. Might have to do another comparison video...

Yeah I've always wanted to play it and was excited about the remake announcement, but then learning that it wasn't a straight remake(altered story) put me back into finding a way to play the original. Some of the graphics are just too old for me to get into since I don't have the nostalgia for them, so I'm super appreciative of the modders making modernized graphics! And thank you so much!

I would like to see the D-Arts Megaman in a MvC display. Similar height to JADA, but model kit proportions so style and size wise I think it would be closest. Good luck finding one though.

Yeah I looked since several people have mentioned the D-Arts and the Sentinel 4 inch Nel. But both are at least $120 each. Which is a LOT. I'm just a lowly KZfaqr not making much off of this! I'm still open to the idea of getting them though, but that may depend on how well the video does and if more people comment asking about it.

@@ComicallyToys Yeah I was more thinking out loud with that comment than making a request because I agree. The aftermarket prices are ridiculous. But JADA making the villains is the real selling point imo. Usually MM has no one to fight in these lines.

@@radishsam2966 Yeah totally! I really can't think of seeing very many villains amongst any of the Megaman lines over the years. I'm pretty sure there was a Vile at some point? And maybe a few Bass figures.

I think Jada would be the only option for now, because the Kotobukiya Megaman is taller than the Jada Robot Masters.

That's definitely a fair point too. If you don't plan to collect the robot masters then it's a toss up, but if you are, then you HAVE to go with Jada. Either that or go really hard with forced perspective photos! haha

I personally like my figures already built, and the ridiculous price points of these kits just turn me off. I own the protoman kit and built and painted it loved it but the rest just don’t hit with the likeness. The kits look to chibi and feminine but the Jada resonates that og Keiji inafune art style

I hear ya. It's not for everyone. I personally enjoy it because it gives access to certain figures in certain sizes that wouldn't be financially feasible otherwise. The Evangelion model kits for example around 50ish bucks, but their size are quite a bit bigger than the Revoltech options(at least at the time that I started doing them). There are definitely downsides to the kits as well though.

Do you mean with the Jada? If so then I think the main issue is just how small the figure really is. Adding more articulation means a more complex manufacturing process which would require a more expensive price.

@@ComicallyToys I guess with just MegaMan figures in general. Quite often I find the issue with figures with similar design problems. I remember some wrestling figures that had the weird hip joints cause I guess they didn't want to interfere with the briefs of the costumes.

Im curious if you have the original Mega Man model kit that came put a decade ago, if so it would be nice to do a little comparison video between the two, and show off what kotobukiya had changed withing the 10 year gap.

Imo jada fig is too big, and that head is humongous! Didn't know the koto was even bigger in size but smaller head. Really didn't like the Jada head, a swap would be awesome but not spending $70...

I honestly won't be surprised if a 3rd party starts making alternate heads for the Jada one. It might take a bit, but I think people will love the Jada one, but will want a different style head like yourself!

You're definitely right! The main reason for the comparison is mostly about availability since both of these are still pretty available compared to previous releases(for reasonable prices). Some people just want to fill out their video game set ups, and others want that sweet Marvel Vs Capcom display!

That price point's a bit too steep for me, and for a figure that ends up looking slightly worse compared to Jada's. Not to take away from Kotobukiya's Megaman, but Jada did a lot more with a lot less in my opinion. Also, I can't say no to that cartoony face.

Yeah it's a bit pricey for sure. I prefer the look of the kit, but based on other comments it's definitely pretty split. I'm not hating one way or the other! I'm just glad we have options especially with at least 1 more version coming later this year(I think)! So it's a nice time to be a Megaman fan.

The truth is that this review is great 😁 KZfaq recommended it to me, I am a big fan of Rockman, I have almost everything, but the Yada version does not convince me, on the other hand the Kotobukiya version is amazing, truly excellent 👌🏻 greetings 😎🇦🇷

Sorry for the late reply but thank you so much for the compliment! I've LOVED Rockman/Megaman since I was a kid and especially loved the Battle Network games, but I try to collect Megaman stuff when I can! Both of these were no brainers. I hope for Jada to continue making more!

Have you heard about the other Megaman coming out soon too? It's another model kit, but from a different company, but I think it's closer in size to Jada. It could be another great option!
