I hate the term ghostwriter when in actuality Jadakiss learned to be a songwriter when he worked with Diddy. The fact that that he has writers credits and the songs are major hits means he's still eating off of those royalty checks

I understand what you mean, but I think when it comes to hip hop it hits a bit differently because the wordplay and flow is their craft. With singers the singing is the primary part of the craft and then the wording so they get the luxury of not being the best writers. In general terms it's the same thing, but to the hip hop fans we want to know if you real or fake with your bars. Most of the time the "ghostwriter" isn't revealed until a time later. Like Jay-Z did for Dr. Dre.

for the time frame, he was most definitely a ghost from the fans perspective,.. nigga we had tapes, and cd's,.. didn't read the liner notes, and if we did, we didn't just assume the people credited, if we knew their name were actual writers, didn't know what they contributed either,.. and Historically, diddy, had issues paying people,.. and publishing so,.. and him not actually constructing whole pieces and giving it to him,.. doesn't quite add up to learning songwriting,.. but all of that was a education.. the experience was.. he said he's still spending Benjamin money,.. Point wise, he gets a half a point for that.. maybe..

It is hard to catch a ghost writer in the credits, and even if you found out there is a writer, then the second question is did he write the hook (ppl don't care who wrote that) or did he write the verses?

Only thing I gotta say is why didn't none of these artists establish royalties and payments prior to writing tracks and all the other shit? They keep crying saying puff ain't pay them but damn none of yall can read a contract or have a lawyer read over it and negotiate on your behalf?
