Jade Cocoon 2 is fully animated! I'm going to be doing game reviews that I've played as a kid, and this is a great start! If you're interested in story time videos I've got those too so be sure to check em out!
It's finally done! I put a lot of effort into this video and hope you enjoy it. I'm happy that I showed my love for this game out there and hope you can understand and grow to love it too. Please give this game a try, it's awesome.
Also shout out to Rabbit Plays games for allowing me to use her recordings of Jade cocoon 2! She plays many other games like this as well so please be sure to check out her channel and sub her, give her some love too!

This review was awesome! I'm so glad that you liked my footage of the game. :3 I had a blast making this LP, because the game is just so much fun! Jade Cocoon 2 is such a wonderful PS2 pickup, as long as you don't go into it expecting a direct sequel to Story of the Tamamayu. I think some people approach it warily, because the tone and feel are a bit different from its predecessor. However, I'd argue that it made some outstanding changes (i.e. improved competitive battles) that render it worth at least checking out, regardless of whether you prefer the first game's mechanics. Once again, great review, Qrim! Can't wait to see more from you. ^^ xx

I had Jade Cocoon 1 first, but I was really impressed how more deeper 2 was with it's mechanics and how more there was to do. I really forgot just how good the music is in 2. And how stylish 2 even if its in a different way that the first one. Still kinda surprised 2 doesn't have the cult following the original has. Cool to see somebody give it some love.

I loved every single second of the review. I love jade cocoon 2 and I got it on its release date and I still have it and play it. Now, I just can't wait for the Dreams to come out so I can make a game like the first and second combined 😅 P. S. I also got that one on chroma. And it was the only one.

Huh, never knew the Chrome beast was 1/1000. I remember getting my airplane divine beast chrome and honestly I don't think I like it being chrome. Immune to magic is both a blessing and a curse, 1 good physical hit and the chrome beast gets almost killed or *is* dead and then you can't revive it because it's immune, or heal it because again immune.

This sounds so cool. My favorite game is Harvest Moon Another Wonderful Life on game cube. I played it when I was little, and it's just the best😂😂

My friend had JC1, and I enjoy that game for it's atmosphere and lore, but mechanically, it left a lot to be desired. I have JC2, and although I'm not big on it's more childish tone and some of the designs, it has more things to do, and made improvements to some of the worldbuilding the first game started. Both games have their merits in my opinion. BTW, if you haven't already, you should definitely check out Monster Rancher. That series also had monster merging, but it also had this gimmick of generating your monsters by putting CDs into your console. Each game in that series tried different things to keep the core gameplay fresh, with mixed results.

You forgot the best music, The orb boss fights/ Kalma bosses. Also, if you've played Pokémon scarlet/Violet, does Bluemen's pre-evolution, who is also in the first Jade Cocoon (Patdreg), look like Iron Treads , Donphan and Great Tusks common ancestor? What about Muggu, Amorg and Heatran?

You can only play the game on your computer with the PCSX2 emulator and a iso file of the game if you don't have have a PS2 or just have a hard time tracking down a copy of the game as a decent price.

Really good effort with the video, and when I saw your set up for your divine beasts team, I feel like you are strong. If we ever meet, you, me, 1v1 battle with my team against yours. P.S. I got one move on the fire side that will do some work to your beasts once I bolster it's attack.

Jade Cocoon 2, gets hate because of the dramatic change in game mechanics. On top of that, artists from the studio Ghibli worked on the game. If it was another production that didn't have Jade Cocoon attached to the name I don't think it would of received as much flak.

I didn't know that, I think the game mechanics really work because of how unique it is. Compared to how games are made today, I'd say we need diversity.
