I strongly advise everybody to first study about jade and jadeite, learn to identify them. You need years and years of experience to learn to identify jade, it's a unique stone and like from other minerals there are so many gradations of color determined by temperature and the minerals in which jade mix. Many of the stones these young men cut where jade, it doesn't mean their not worth anything, even those unpopular tonalities well designed and polished have certain value. You have to understand that emperial jade is a super rare occurance, the conditions have to be almost perfect, really high temperatures and the right amount of chromium that will give that emerald green look to jadeite. So, if you just started learning jade keep learning! don't waste your money just gambling for the sake of it, I don't say it is exciting but pretty much it's like buying lottery tickets trying to get the the big prize! the posibilities you find emperial jadeite in stones in Myanmar at the market are like 0.03 percent. Have a good day every one! keep learning about jade! one of the most mystic stones out there!

So true, as it is with anything about the gem trade. I love Jade, but I would not go to Burma and expect to find any high-quality Jade. Perhaps, after spending a year there, watching and learning I would try my hand in that business.

Make some sets out of those rocks! Earrings, necklace, and rings. People still like real stones! Even if they are not jems!!! I now several people who do that with the local stones in their area and sell lots of them! Because they are real and not plastic junk! Just a thought my friend. And thanks for taking the time to share your adventure.

There is a reason why they sell you the "mystery stones" for you to gamble on. It's the same reason why there are so many casinos in Las Vegas... because you're going to lose more than you win. They know that.

Jadeite stone are heavier than normal stone. if you left Jadeite stone in very hot sun , the stone remain cool no matter how long you keep that stone in direct sun light. @@stevet5790 I don't care if he's buying unicorns. Nobody will sell you anything from a successful business at a loss. Did you notice how much money he lost? If there was good money to be made, they would be cutting their own stones themselves.
@Kohlenstoffkarbid
@Kohlenstoffkarbid 5 жыл бұрын
@@@MasterKenfucius They actually do cut their own stones while they sell the garbage to novice gamblers. You may notice, that those small polished windows show usually the very best spots of the whole stone. It's no coincidence. The outer rim don't hide the inner part from the eyes of an experienced person as completely as people may think. And cracks can be seen from outside even more easily because these are not limited to the inner parts. They look at the stones, keep and cut the best and try to let the garbage and mediocre ones look better than they actually are by polishing only the very best areas in seemingly random windows. No one actually sells unsearched stones or lots of anything with potential very high value without having a look first. By the way, even the cut stuff shown on this market looks completely crap and low grade. The polished gems are maybe reaching mediocre.. barely. The good stuff goes to the buyers and then directly to china and elsewhere.

Just in case people don't know about it. your stones wasn't that bad, they can be sold to jewellery store to make something out. One thing that has to be pointed out, imperial jade is extremely rare but it doesnt mean other kind of jade doesnt wonth a penny. Dont buy the 100% uncut stone, just imagine if you were the quarry owner, would you not to cut a little window to peek a little? Also, people mentioned about using x-ray or weighting it with water, that wont work. Unless your rough stone is only enclosed by a mm thin layer of rubbish rock, otherwise it wont make a noticeable difference. Usually when the rock is being mined from the quarry, they will serperate those rock into different grade and sell them. How? they make "window". And why those rock are uncut when you buy it? simply because those rock are not from the main mining cluster. Those rocks are purchase in tons by the marchants, so the mine owner can keep digging their big prize from their mine.

Since I was a really tiny child, I've ALWAYS been able to tell precious metals and gemstones. When I worked selling antique jewelry, my bosses and coworkers would try to stump me, but they never could, even passing something quickly before my eyes. I couldn't teach it to others, or explain it. I liken it to perfect pitch in music. You either have it or you don't.

I've been scammed a couple times while I was living in Vietnam as the large majority of Jade you'll find contains polymers or is just downright fake. Until one day I walked into a shop and thought I'd buy my wife something pretty when I get home. It was a honey jade bangle and it turned out to be legit once we got it tested back in South Africa by a friend of mine who's a mineralogist. From that day, I've loved jade because of how uncommon it is as jewellery here.

I am looking for rocks, primarily jadeite. During my travels to Africa, I often visited this area, just as a tourist. I found that this rock has a strong tendency to hold water. The same goes for the large amount of water that the rock will carry. The water is only carried by the surface, not by the veins. I have also found this rock to be very hard to put down. At the local water supply, I can find and remove the jadeite rock by hand. After doing this, I can also use the water bottle that I hold to drain the lake and use water from a reservoir to help remove the water. The water that I use can also be brought to a nearby pond which I use to clear the dirt. After having used most of the water in Africa, I have also discovered some water that can help add to the water volume and keep it from overflowing. The only downside to this rock of mine is that I don't have a way to dig out the jadeite. But here in Florida we have a wonderful river but the rock itself is very heavy, so be careful with that. Once you get across with the rock and pull about half way through, you will almost certainly find it. Once you are done finding it, I recommend that you do not worry about paying any additional fees for finding it. If there are people nearby who are actually interested in your rock, don't worry.

I actually like some of the grey dark grey ones, I remember seeing one light grey jade bangle and I thought they were more beautiful than the the darker green ones that can be a lot more expensive. Considering the size of the stone, I'm guessing among the cracks there must be some area that doesn't have the crack and can actually be used for jewellery. I wonder if the prices are lower if you were a local and native looking at least?
