I grew up with fear of german shephards. I was born in Germany nine years after WWII, a time that used these dogs to inflict pain and fear. Now 68 years old, I adore dogs while being a bit hesitant towards german shephards. Your video shows german shepherds in a way I have never seen them. Thank you for enriching my life :o)

German shepherds are beautiful dogs - they are my favourites - apart from my own spitz who died last year. Yes, they can be trained to be dangerous, but aggressiveness is not in their nature. If they ever 'misbehave' - it's humans' fault.
@feurigerStern
@feurigerStern Жыл бұрын
I completely understand your fear. But that is why there are different breeds for different people. I own Boxers. A bit of trivia: Boxers were trained during WWII to track people, but they were found to be too stubborn to be trained, so German Shepherds became the choice. All of the Schutzhunden are bred to being trained to be fierce when needed (i.e., German Shepherds, Boxers, Rottweilers, Doberman Pinschers, Giant Schnauzers, Belgian Malinois, Cane Corso, Cane Presarios, Pitbulls). I would never own some of these because I have seen them turn on a dime. I have a fear of Cane Presarios, Cane Corsos, and Belgian Malinois.

My parents rescued a (what was then) 3 month old Shepherd pup that wasn't housetrained and was physically abused, underweight, and skittish around anything that moved. 8 months later and he's huge for still being a puppy and quite the rascal. 😄 They don't regret adopting him though, even if he is a lot of work to train. 😊

I have two also but one is a mix. I have to make sure I shut the bathroom door all the way or they will come tumbling in and start playing right at my feet. If one is up in his crate eating the other one will barge through the door if it is not shut and stair at me then turn around and lay in the doorway. I have had other dogs before but none that would follow me everywhere like German shepherds.

Same here. Best dog I’ve ever had. I was convinced he was a human- just in the shape of a dog. We were playing ball one day when he just turned 9 years old, and the next morning I had to take him to the emergency vets. Turned out he had a huge tumor on his spleen and his activity the day before caused it to rip open. He bled internally all night long. Surgery was an option but I was given no promises that it’d keep him alive very long. Could’ve been another year, or another day. I didn’t want him to suffer so I had him put to sleep. 😢 One of the saddest most gut wrenching experiences of my life

My father’s german shepherd, Diana , lived until I was three years old. She was giant and looked ferocious, but she looked after me as if I was one of her puppies, even when I sometimes treated her like one of my toys. I am 56 now, an I never forgot her.

I had one 10 yrs ago . He lived till he was 15 which is unusual for a Shepard as per the vet . He was a large long haired dog weighed 65 kilos but was a gentle giant . He scared everyone with his size but all he wanted from strangers was a pet . He had a smiley face and loved belly rubs. He hardly barked but did let out loud wolf cries whenever he heard the police or ambo siren 😂 I miss him so much 😢 Enjoy them . They are so gorgeous ❤

I've had gsds all my life, which is a long time, and I would rather fight than switch! I have two at present, a black and silver stock coat female who is 10 1/2 years old, and a longhaired black and tan full blanket male who is 8 years old. I bought these dogs as 8 week old puppies, from two different breeders, AKC registered. Neither one was cheap. So I can't say that I rescued them, and I am not going to apologize for that, either. If I were to see a GSD in the pound, I would have to rescue it. By far the greatest member of the family you will ever have, and the greatest breed of dog in the world. There's nothing like a German Shepherd, never will be. They are the most intelligent, honest, loyal to a fault, athletic, courageous, and capable dogs in the world. What other breed can you say excels at police work, protection, search and rescue, drug detection, tracking, leading the blind and deaf, herding, obedience, retrieving, great children's dog's, dedicated and beautiful breed in the world? If someone tells you that you have too many gsds, quit speaking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life. 😎

My first dog was a Shepherd heavy cross. She was incredibly compassionate and intelligent. She never had any litters, but she instantly went into mom mode when we brought home an abandoned kitten. She'd groom him and wrap herself around him so that he could find her non-existent milk or to sleep on her. She'd keep our jolly little pug at bay to overprotect the cat. She was incredible with myself and my brothers as toddlers, too! You'd be hard pressed to find a better breed all around IMO.

I am on my third German Shepherd, Thor, who is 5 years old and my best bud. You can see him in my image for my comment with sister, Chica, a miniature long haired chihuahua sitting on him. It seems like every one I get they feel closer than the one before. Had both of the others till they passed when they were 11 years old. Could totally relate to everything you pointed out. He will even watch TV sometimes. Yellowstone is his favorite when the wolves are on of course. Each night we put on a wolf compilation so he can howl to it. Now when I do face time with my grandkids they get him to howl as well. So fun.

Police may think a dog looks ferocious but some of the working farm dogs would be able to round up a gang of people escaping in different directions. But they have so much personality and the facial expressions they make take it all in melting the heart. They are a high energy dog that requires lots of TLC. She’s the BEST and most fun dog ever, I totally adore her. If your viewers love GSDs please urge them to keep an eye on their local rescues. These dogs desperately need a loving home and with a lot of exercise/play time and regular training they will be your best friend. I hate having German Shepherds only because their life expectancy is 12 to 15 years. It just isn't enough time.

I had a German Shepherd a long time ago. I was a teen then and he was the most loyal, smart and sweet dog! He always knew when I was crying. He would howl a little, sit by my side and put a paw on my knee. It was so sweet! He wouldn't stop using his paw to call for my attention and talking to me until I smiled. That was his signal to put his head on my knees looking at me with those eyes asking "are you ok?", "feeling better?". Also, he loved to sing along when I was playing the piano. It was the funniest thing to watch! I taught him to play hide and seek and it was hilarious his reaction every time he found me. 😊 I still miss him so much and I know he will be waiting for me in heaven when my time comes. ❤️

My beloved shepperd lady passed away few years ago. God I miss her every day. Your video reminds me how I miss canine's presence in my life. As a lonely person, my life feels so empty without some true loyal friend to love. It is decided, the next time life puts an abandonned dog on my road, I ll try to be its family. Dogs lifes expectancy is way too short, while some humans I know are ruining life for everyone since decades.

You're so lucky to have these adorable furry family members! Enjoy every single day with them. We have Huskys now - everything is the same except barking: they never bark, but howl sometimes ( very enjoyable music) and they shed 365 days a year! We love them ❤️ 😍🙋‍♀️

My first dog was a GSD. My wife and I were in our early 40’s when we got him at 2 months old. We could not have asked for a finer dog. He came from a long line of German search a rescue dogs and his personality reflected it. We had to say goodbye exactly 13 years to the day he entered our life. It will be 2 years this May since he left us but we reminisce about him everyday. Thanks for your lovely videos.

I'd love you to do a video on how you've trained the wait command. Impulse control is one of the most important things we can train our dogs, but so many people don't bother as it's "too hard". Your GSDs are amazing at it, it would be fantastic to see how you do it and use them as an example!

Yes I have a pup now, and have had 4 Bull Terriers, onto my 5th now. They are cute stubborn and saved me from rape, and a ABDUCTION🛸👽. It's repeating actions, and lots of effort, patience and of cause LOVE. My smartest dog was a rescue, a Bull Arab/ Masiff. It's all about food and he was a mess when I got him. ☆Feed them real spoilt food sometime, they get a roast;-chicken, lamb, Beef etc.... You learn to share with dogs. Half on my plate goes to my dog. "NO JUNK FOOD" its hard on the kidneys, is a must!

I've never had a GSD and had one or two not so good experiences with some of them when I was a kid, back in the early 70's. I believe it was because of bad breeding and bad or no training. That said, there are few things as adorable and cute as a GSD puppy. All feet and ears and goofiness. 💗💗💗 Your babies are fabulous.

We always had dogs. In school I had a friend who was attacked by two shepherds when he was like 5yo. Like really bad, he had scars on his back and all. He feared them, naturally, but our dog who was the sweetest lamb cured him of that fear. It's the humans that are the problem in such cases, not the dogs. They are mentally like children, and mistreated children tend to become traumatized adults. Like guns, they are not evil, it is the person handling it that is responsible. But they are, when treated well, truly the best and unconditional friends someone could hope for, excluding humans.

Knew you are "jk" with the title!! The three GSDs we've had the blessings to love (at separate times) def fit those smart, sweet, silly, cuddly, & loyal traits. Of course, good care that included proper training afforded us and them very rewarding experiences. I learned to do basic obedience training decades ago while working at a USMC post. Our current GSD girl gives great pleasure to us at our retirement years. She's a re-homed, highly trained treasure that came from a US Navy retiree whose health condition urged him to re-home his good doggo.

LOL 💖💖💖 I hope everybody who, at least likes animals, sees this joy-filled account of being the Momma to three German Shepherds. I laughed, I smiled, and I would have happily hugged you and your Poochies were you here. There are so many adorable pets just waiting to be adopted. I know, I find myself watching too many of the sad videos posted. Then I go to the Animal Rescue Websites and look at all of the perfectly lovable cats and dogs just waiting for someone to notice them. I hope people don't just watch this video once but, instead, push replay and watch it several times and, then, before exiting subscribe to your channel. I am positive they will all end up realizing that the best life is one where not one, not two, but at least THREE Dogs, or THREE CATS or any combination of THREE PETS is the perfect number of animals to adopt. Making room in one's life for so much love, laughter, and life is truly a great recipe for creating a GOOD LIFE for yourself, your family, and all who know. 💖💖💖

My GSD was Sable and Black. I adored him. He loved learning new things and was very easy to train, but around food saliva would drip from his mouth even when he was out watching other people eat 😂. When you groomed him you'd end up with a pile of fur bigger than him! I still miss him my adorable baby dog Sam RIP.

GSDs were the first dogs I ever saw in my life, as my parents kept a pair on the premises. But I was not allowed to play with them as a toddler, because they were just way too enthusiastic about everything and would think little hooman would want to play wrestling like they did with my parents and each other. Then dad moved them to another of our properties, so I rarely saw them after that, and then we got chihuahuas🤦🏻‍♀️ and they didn’t play rough, they WERE rough, making the two GSDs so gentle in comparison 😂
