Germany started a huge sea regassification in the Baltic sea in the last several years to replace Russian gas thru north stream pipeline(that was sabotaged ).. A possible solution to losses in natural gas transportation is to build small and medium size lng sea tankers that could be docked in smaller (seaports) harbors and land gas pipelines be shorter in length to the natural gas turbine electricity facility..Italy has a dozen or more small seaports that could allow smaller lng tankers to unload natural gas to local gas pipelines to nearby gas turbine electrcity and also for heating and cooking. Also a process of cogeneration at electricity production site could be linked to renewable energy from geothermal,wind and sun..thus increasing energy efficiency of turbine generated electricity to above 70 per cent efficiency with only nuclear fission generated electrcity of equal or higher energy efficiency. Marine gas turbine power is replacing deisel powered ship propulsion because of its increased efficiency and low emissions.natural gas is in great abundance other than Russia,middle east and north africa.
