Күн бұрын

Welcome to Jafffa Adventures where Jill and Terry take off for a half year trip through the remote regions of South Australia and Western Australia on a camping and 4WD odyssey. In this video are in the Kimberley with plans to take on the Gibb River Road. Mother nature has different ideas! Instead we visit a special river camp outside Derby, the RAAF Boab Quarry, and Keep River National Park.
If West Australia 4WD and off-road tracks, remote camping, and hiking are not on your bucket list, they should be!!
If you like overlanding, if you like remote unspoiled places, if you like 4WD action, if you like camping from your 4x4 then this is the place to be.

I am definitely not a fan of feral cats either, Dave. I was so surprised to see one where we were. Unfortunately, we have seen them in incredibly isolated locations and not just on the fringes of built up areas. It’s very alarming.

RAAF Boab quarry because the fill extracted there was used to build the RAAF airstrip in Derby, as I understand it. There was a plaque there some where a few years ago.

Awesome episode Terry (and the preceding one too of which I didn't get around to commenting on...). Those boab look like amazing trees.... but they're nothing like their African cousins. One of my must watch youtubers, Itchy Boots just spent a few weeks motorbike riding in Madagascar and the trees there are amazing. Thanks for sharing your trip with us armchair travellers and keep up the good work. :)

You mentioned you are going home up the top is that the Carpentaria Hwy if so i will be looking forward to that as i have done that road many time on our fishing trips all the way down from Victoria, its a long way to go just to catch some fish but we love it. Don't know if your aware our T3 Thuraya satellite has gone down and maybe out until December, that's not good news as i doing the Madigan line, Simpson desert and Birdsville so that phone is staying home. Beautiful spots. I'll add that first camp site to the list so thank you. You're right, flexibility in planning is the key to these remote places. ❤ Sadly, that kitten will grow into a beefed-up fauna killer. I despair that someone would leave or introduce a feral cat to that beautiful place. It's former owner needs some serious education. Your videos are great. It's just that I've been witness to the decimation feral cats have wrought on our precious indigenous species.
