Oy. Let's over explain even more. Sigh. Yes, it's a big frikkin deal. I am 54 years old, and have LONG believed that Canada needs to up it's game by having someone other that white men in the government. Hence my firm stance. This young man is CANADIAN, he BELONGS, it's about FRIKKIN TIME, persons other than white British background men deserve the right to be in Parliament. I believe he will kick butt and take names. I hope he has a very long and productive career in Parliament. And wouldn't it be marvelous if it really didn't matter that he happens to be Sikh.

His policies of spend spend,spends ,not his money rather other people's money is a sick idea.It's never worked,and Canadians should know that better than anyone else. The successful Chinese ,and many others whose governments are a threat to their money through taxation find ways to get their money out of their country. Thus the over valued real state markets in all major cities. You have to entice money to invest in projects,not scare them away. One thing they could do is close the loop holes so the rich pay their fare share,but Singh,May,Trudeau,and Scheer will never talk about that.

tish 1313 if it means getting my severely impacted wisdom teeth ripped out without paying thousands then yes cause I can’t afford it right now and it was considered an emergency dental case three years ago. If it means me being able to go to college to pursue a career of my choice for way less than the normal costs now, then yes. If it means making things more affordable then yes.

Here's a reality check. Hate crimes account for less than 0.01% of all crimes in Canada and one of the lowest rates of hate crimes in the entire world. As of right now, Singh disgustingly said "Welcome to racist Canada" after the attack in London Ontario .... as if that is supposed to represent the average Canadian. Don't tell me he's not simply looking to stir racial division. He's very much into identity politics, which is a bigoted ideology that intentionally pits people of different groups against one another. It stems from a Marxist ideology that believes that there will never be equality, and therefore, you must always fight for your group's societal power. Classic class struggle philosophy. If that's not bad enough, at least the group he could identify with are Canadians, not a race. He's an awful person.

While I congratulate and encourage young vibrant leaders like Mr. Jagmeet Singh for politics/leadership etc, but if your starting point is to promote/protect your own ethnic/religious "interest" first and foremost, then, that's misplaced priorities. If Jagmeet wants to be the prime minister of Canada, well that's great, but what are his values and vision for Canadians, for all Canadians like those natives here who live in deplorable conditions for centuries now. As a canadian I am not a bit interested in Sikh related politics on 1984 and so on, but I can totally understand if he wants to bring awareness and closure to it with his new found political platform in addition to his overall vision for all Canadians. And for the record the sikh genocide in 1984, is that the only genocide happened on this earth? What about the Armenian genocide? the Tamil genocide, the Cambodian genocide, Rwandan genocide, which ethnic identity related genocide is your favorite pick? Naturally for Mr Sigh, 1984 sikh genocide is close to his heart, and wants to talk about it, and to me that's not a vision for a country, its more like a personal service/contribution to his community/group/religion etc, whereas a man of vision will talk about ALL GENOCIDEs and how to prevent such in future. As long as we're stuck in identity based politics, we would miss to serve humanity as one. I will vote for any leader who will serve and stand with the identity of humanity, which includes all, not the ones who is only interested in their specific ethnic/religious issues. May be Mr. Singh wishes to serve both, the humanity and his own skih interest/issues, and as part of serving humanity he could certainly attend to the needs of his ethnic roots. This is my honest view.

Jagmeet Singh fears answering this: Jagmeet Singh, what will you do to prevent 3rd world migrants from outnumbering First Nations and Inuit peoples in their own country? If you don't limit migration, the Native cultures will be eliminated. It is unfair Canadians pay to put migrants in hotels, give healthcare, etc. instead of spending this money to help indigenous tribes who have lived in dire conditions for too long! It is not enough to promise clean water on reservations when you cause a demographic shift that results in even less support for the Native tribes!!!!

Jagmeet Singh has clarity of thought but his support for the Referendum2020 shows immaturity, since this referendum has been initiated by SFJ (a separatist organisation) without constitutional approval of either India or Pakistan. How can a leader of a Canadian Political Party support an unconstitutional vote?

I am not against the concept of separate state of Khalistan, but it has to be on a non-religious basis and not similar to how Pakistan was created for Muslims. I am quite confused as to why it's such a big deal? He's got some good policies from what I have seen and is a progressive which is what all countries need in a leader. What's the difference between a Christian person running and a Sikh ? The only difference is that a Sikh wears their religion for people to see whereas you can't tell who is a Christian etc. Good on him and good luck to you sir and would be great to have another positive figure as prime minister in your country.

It is a big deal because no Canadian federal political party has ever had a person who is a visible minority lead their party before. However, we do need to move past this fact. Yes, he is not a white guy. Yes, he wears a visible symbol of his personal religious belief on his head. But that will not influence his actions as a potential prime minister. Sadly, the media will not focus on this. They are all about hype.

The fact that his Religion and past gives him ties to Sikhs in India. A Canadian P.M must be pure to Canada and want the best for Canada, Canada above all else. I am a born Canadian my parents are born Canadians my grandparents came here after WW2 from Greece and i can tell you this, i have a biased towards Greece. If i have kids they will be pure blood Canadian. I will only vote for a pure blood Canadian, what that means to me is someone who has been here a more then 2 generations.

@@inglouriousbasterd9495 I never said there was problem. But Sikh and Muslim are not the same Religion and people keep calling him a Muslim. It's called educating people on different religions

sikhs pushing for their own country as you put it is hardly anything, its mostly just an idea by old people in the community where they wish back what we had but was taken in unspeakable ways. what has been done for khalistan is nothing compared to other states. Most siks (99 percent) dont want khalistan to happen anyway, its not viable in so many ways and theres much more which i dont have time to go into depth on right now.

With the old video out where he described Sihk as superior culture, and sihks should have a separate state. If he gets elected PM India will not be friendly.
