It's less to do with being born knowing how to swim and more to do with how their body is aligned (not upright like ours) and the fact that human infants/children have literally the worst survival skills of any creature that ever lived.

@@Astraeus.. that's a good point. Doesn't mean that I'm wrong, because almost every creature is born with survival skills better than ours, we're lucky we managed to survive

@@justaguywhoisakillerforfun605 I was just talking to one of my work buddies about this today. It's astonishing that humans are even around today. There are a lot of animals where if they can't walk within hours of being born, well that's all for I guess, we'll try again with the next one... Like the vast majority of species need to get up and moving and start learning how to take care of themselves almost immediately. Meanwhile humans take at the very least a couple years just to learn how to stand up and walk, and our odds of survival on our own are practically zero for the first 10-15 years....

@@Astraeus.. which is fascinating, how we endured, think about it, our chances are basically 0 if left alone, maybe another animal could take care of us, which is unlikely but can happen, if we don't have any sort of parent, we are... So, so fragile, that we wouldn't be here, crazy to think that the species that dominated the world, are the ones who need to be cared for at least 15 years.

@Braveboots777 - Yes, and they can dive to around 20-25 feet and actually eat any small prey they catch while still under water! Amazing !
