Jaguar XJ Supersport CRASH @ Nordschleife

During Touristenfahrten at 11-08-2013 this Jaguar crashed against the guard rail.
Jaguar XJ Supersport.
The plan was to make this car the new Ring Taxi.

I think was a tremendous shock for the driver and special passenger if he has one , because this is a Jag taxi , they uses this car to show to the customers theirs capabilities on Nurburgring. This car also has a reinforce metal structure inside so this was helpful in this collision.

Wow I remember that guy the last time I was on the ring! He drifted around me on one of the turns......I guess even great drivers mess up too!

Well the aluminum they used on the body is pretty strong. Many manufacturers are using that material greatly now.

Shows how completely rigid a car modified for track use is, almost no movement in the body of the car, with the relatively cheaper suspension parts taking the hit instead!

I think that he(?) was driven on the track because there is on another videos comment who says that they were waiting him to crash because hes driving style.

The S8 is heavy but it can handle the Ring. Driver was not careful enough.

nono i read somewhere else that in an effort to correct understeer while turning right, the right hand wheels locked to facilitate it. i mean, it's a brand new jaguar, it definitely has abs.

The XJ was a special taxi that drives some tourist through The Ring. The car was driven by a qualified driver. So it wasn't the driver. I think it was an electronic error or a suspension failure.

Another video of this accident has a load of comments talking about how the driver was a moron. It shows him coming into the corner way, way to fast and then stamping on the brakes while trying to turn.

remember a tip:When you crash on Nurburgring,DONT get off the car(if it isn't on fire) its very dangerous!just waiting for help in the car.

I expected to see much worse. That guy did a great job saving that car and himself from much more damage. Thank goodness he got it at that angle at the last second cause that could of ended up head on.

I wonder if they disable the ABS as many racing drivers dislike it, and on a big luxury car like this, it might activate too prematurely for racing?

Driver error! Looks like he came into the turn way too hot, and locked the brakes. But, I am amazed why the abs system didnt work properly. I wonder if they disabled the abs for the track? Atleast we know the Jag crashes pretty good. It hit that wall pretty hard with out very much damage, insurance wise it is totalled, but at that speed he hit that will that car should have had way more damaged even possibly flipped on its side.

The wheel speed sensor wire melted, causing two opposite wheels to lock up.

The XJ is to heavy for The Ring, because it has to tight corners. Though the Mercedes S 65 AMG would nail that corner without any problems.

Nu wissen wir zwei Dinge...zum einen lässt sich das abs iwie bei dem Jag ausschalten...und ...es bringt verdammtnochma nix beim lenken auf der Bremse stehn zu bleiben. Könnte man wissen.

This is on the famous Nordschleife race track. Here you can drive with your one car.

Leonard Scholz Yeah fully agree! When you buy a XJ ore something you get this test drive with a proffesional driver. The inside of the car is just a interior of a race car.

Wenn man die Nordschleife nicht kennt sollte man dort auch nicht fahren, selbst gute Simulatoren wie Assetto Corsa reichen um vorher die Strecke zu lernen 😂
