Great series mate. I'm from the UK, didn't know about powerhouse UK (cheers!) and I own a 2005 XKR. These vids will definitely come in handy in the near future. I'm in the middle of restoring/overhauling the underbody components at the moment, bushes, bearings, new shocks etc. Great videos, subbed 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿👍

Haha in Japan it is true to say Mick Jagger drove a Jagger. No test to get a license to drive in Japan for Canadians. Don’t need any language ability either. Americans somehow almost all need to write and pass the usual Japanese drivers test. Most take 9 times to get it. This is based on some kind of very old agreement but it depends on exactly what State you are from. Some State Residence don’t require it in Japan. Same as Canada. Just need an international license and pay 100 USD and do a very simple eye test. Easy Peezy :) There is a way to import used cars from Japan that are over 10 years old for a very low price. I paid 2,500 USD to bring my BMW over to Canada. I got quite a few more good years out of it. So far I’ve not had much luck with used JAGS in Canada but i think it is going to get better. :) I’ll get my Black XJR fixed right.

The Leaping Leopard A.K.A. the classic silver chrome Jaguar hood ornament. Now completely out of production on new Jags and for some length of time now. The other decal is the Roaring Panther/Jaguar Beast?? Just guessing on the last one and off the top of my head. I’ll have to google it to confirm/ to be sure. I’m curious now what the definitive correct answers are. -- curiosity got the cat!!! Haha that’s a Jaguar joke! My JAG is a black cat for sure. Lots of bad luck with it so far but I’m enjoying the challenge! What can you get NEW for 12,000 - 16,000 USD now a days anyways ? Nothing like this and they sure don’t make them like they use to! :) I’ve not been into Jaguar Cars that long, only since about October/November 2022 at the very earliest. And frankly have learned mostly of what I now know from your beautiful lovely superb KZfaq videos. So yeah this is just off the top of my head. BUT....yesss final answer. I’ll lock in with these choices. I was a Beemer guy before this in Japan and for a short time in Canada. I wanted something to impress my son with for when he comes to visit Canada. You know he’s going to be 9 or 10 when he visits and DAD’S CAR IN CANADA WAS SOOO COOL and SOOO MUCH FUN and a nice big back seat for him to ride in. Japanese moms and kids ( especially boys it seems ) sometimes just like to sit in the back seats and have DAD drive them around as if being driven around by a professionally paid driver and I thought this car would be dead on perfect for it. :) Did I answer the questions correctly?

This just came in from a friend of mine that lives in Taipei. In Taiwan Jaguar cars are well known and their transportation infrastructure is quite highly developed....perhaps just under that of Japan. And in Taiwan Jaguar cars are regularly known as ‘speedy leopards’. I was just told about this a few days ago and of course this is a direct English translation from their own brand of Chinese language that they use. In Japan yes it is Jagger said like this: JUgger like mugger or slugger the a in it they use for Jagger sounds like jugger or the same as the U in Rugger. BMW is simply BM Mercedes Benz is Benz Steering wheel is handle or handing. Hood is bonnet. Using transmission to slow you down is engine break. The high octane gasoline is quite a high number there. 98 I think. There always seems to be TOO MUCH of whatever people want including used cars with very low kms. My used BMW 320i was 8 or 9 years old and has 14,500 kms well under 10,000 original miles on it when I got it. I never heard the word FORD or CRYSLER or Dodge when I was there. The license plates are by color and number code. Yellow with a K denotes a very small k car . The smallest economy cars. White with 5 is a small car. White with 3 is a full sized car. White with 1 is a semi truck. Usually white or yellow with a Y is an American military service member. Y for Yankee maybe. Not sure. When you gas up you get a wet towel to wipe your dash at full service gas stands while you wait. It’s car heaven! :) They beep the horn shortly to say thank you . Flash the hazards shortly also means thank you. There is a car tax once per year like a tax on a home. Vehicle inspection is every 2 years no matter the age of the car and it is usually 1000 to 3000 USD . On the super speed highway a little beep or flash at a slower vehicle and they will simply get out of your way very politely. :)

Your XJR content has been super helpful on my 03 silver/grey, black interior with the CATS suspension. I bought it earlier this year and I am actually shocked at how nice this car is. The driving experience is nothing short of magical. Where does the Jaguar XJR rank among your top favorite cars?

Hey Sir I loved your video, very informative. Here's my question.. I tore down my 1998 Jaguar xj8 due to a Head Gasket blown. replaced gasket. bought new head bolts (Land Rover same bolts) new gaskets top to bottom. Heads were milled and left one was in fact bad. Everything was torqued to Spec. I was filling the Jag back up with Antifreeze. Well it started leaking around the back part of the heads both sides top side pooling under the intake. I ordered new head gaskets, my question is Can I re-use the head bolts over again? I also bought a new crank bolt. Thank you for your response. I was very careful your candor will not hurt my feelings! Vincent

Hi there, The head bolts are torque to yield style bolts. It is not recommended that you reuse them as the stretch when you torque them down. Did you locate the source of the water pooling in the valley?

The roaring hello kitty . LOL just joking In Japan these cars are known as ‘JAGGERS’ Jagger s BM s And Benz es Without the s and es THE AUTOMATIC TOLL HIGHWAYS WERE A BLAST TO DRIVE ON IN JAPAN!!! There is a little electronic black box you get installed in your car called an ETC and you put a credit card in the box and as you drive through the toll gates they automatically open for you at quite high speeds and the charge is simply recorded onto your credit card for using the toll super highway and you pay your credit card bill at the end of the month. :) it is super worth it too because if you use the ETC black box and credit card it is 50% off to drive the TOLLS. And much much faster too. Gates open at lightening speeds and zero line ups. Not even one car ahead of you at the GREEN ETC GATES. They definitely have found a way to keep it moving very speedily in Japan! :)

Was the oil on the supercharger motor oil or supercharger oil? Following your XJR vids, i have its twin, 2001 british racing green over oatmeal leather.

Some residue was found that may be supercharger oil. The buildup on the snout was rubber from the belt slipping.

It will fit if you have the X308 chassis. In the US the X308 went through 2003. In the UK 2003 introduced the aluminum body X350 platform. Hope this helps.
