Thanks so much for these videos! As a non-petrol head, but owning a beautiful XK, the videos are so quick and informative, and take the time out of ploughing through the manual. Very much appreciated. Keep up the good work Paul!

I’m a new owner of a 2007 XK convertible with 60,000 miles checked out by the local jag mechanics in my town on the west coast of California. Of course British racing Green, and tan interior. These videos are very helpful thank you My parents always had jag sedans growing up, all British racing green. I purchased my first jag 74KE convertible when I was 19 years old, British racing, green biscuit, interior four-speed, V12 wire wheels. I loved it and owned it for seven years before heading back to college. This XK 150 harkens me back to yesteryear and all those memories of owning the sexiest car in the world. When I smell the Connerly leather, it reminds me of my parents. Luckily, I have some photos of my first jag.

I have used the remote +ve terminal on my X100 a few times as it is easily accessible under the bonnet as part of the engine fuse box. On the X150, Jaguar moved the remote terminal onto the fuse box behind the rear seat centre section which is pretty useless if you actually need to access it. Perhaps worth pointing out to former X100 owners. I removed the aerial fuse a year ago once I had installed a proper Bluetooth module which plays music and radio.

Fuse box fuse numbers change from model to model , year to year, option by option , sometimes the fuse you think it is .. isn’t.

Thank you Paul for the fuse panel tour. I've had my 2007 XK convertible for two years now and have yet to solve a lighting problem. Since the auxiliary fuse junction box may be the culprit, I thought to ping you for your opinion/recommendations. My door puddle lights, map lights and glove box lights do not seem to have power. The bulbs are fine and have done a bunch of testing at that end looking for the source of them being inoperable. I believe fuse F1 & F13 may be the junction feeding power to these?? I also heard from various forums there may be a relay in this same junction box that plays a role. Any help or direction is appreciated. Cheers. Rick.

I will keep my red supercharged 5.0 xkr in good condition for when you want to buy it mate. 😊 P.s. removing fuse19 didn't make any significant difference to active exhaust so I just put it back in. I remember reading somewhere that leaving it open could make valves stick in time which could muck it up for ppl wanting to revert back to factory in future. 👍
@johncarey77868 ай бұрын
I think I heard that you have to make sure the exhaust valve is in the open position before pulling the fuse
@andyspinks99968 ай бұрын
@@johncarey7786 possibly the case mate. Regardless Im not sure it's good long term.
@richardsutton018 ай бұрын
@@johncarey7786 The active valve is held in the loud position by a spring. The fused actuator acts against the spring so you can remove the fuse with the engine off. The spring will always hold the actuator in the same position.

Thanks again Paul, Great video as usual. I now know by name which junction box is which. Years ago I removed the F19 exhaust fuse and didn’t notice any change in the exhaust note so I replaced it thinking it may be protecting something. When you removed the XK back box and replaced it with the XKR back box did you notice any active components on the XK back box? Thanks Jay
@life_on_cars8 ай бұрын
Hi. There were no active components on my original exhaust. Jaguar must have just used the same fuse box for both models 🤔
@jaybehling58038 ай бұрын
@@life_on_cars Thanks Paul. I guess it was easier to leave the fuse in than pay someone to take it out. BTW I had a friend who was a great Jaguar mechanic and he said our XK’s have lots of Ford DNA in the ecm’s of that year.

Auxiliary junction box (behind centre panel rear seat) houses the blower motor relay. If you watch the video, I think it's the grey colour one.

So, after watching this vid, reading the blogs and owners manual, f19 on my 4.2na is active exhaust and it’s populated with a fuse. I pulled it and no difference. Need to get my multimeter and see if it even has current going to it.

I have the 2010 5.0 XKR (supercharged). A few weeks ago I was driving around with dynamic mode engaged. At the end of my drive I pulled into a fueling station and turned the car off. After I filled up the tank and turned the car back on, I got the “Adaptive Dynamics Fault” error on the dash. It’s just an error, not a true engine code. I tried resetting with an OBD II device to no avail. I also tried doing a hard reset disconnecting the battery. The error has stayed on permanently since it happened. It won’t let me engage dynamic mode or the snow setting. Car definitely feels a bit bumpier and stiffer on the road since the adaptive dynamics are related to the suspension partly. I’m also getting the tire pressure warning in all tires even though the pressure is fine in all of them. I read on the forums that this is probably a sensor that disconnected or fell off. But after watching this video I’m wondering if there are any fuses I could try checking first? I just think it’s weird that it happened after turning the car on at a fueling station instead of after hitting a bump suddenly or something or the car sitting around for a long time.
@life_on_cars8 ай бұрын
Hope you get it sorted soon. I'd start by checking things like the brake lights ( sounds crazy I know) and yes the fuses are worth looking at, if no luck, it would be getting a Jaguar dealer to scan the fault codes.
@Jdjfbficjenenwk37368 ай бұрын
@@life_on_carsthat sounds right. Nice video! By the way, I was laughing when you were in the back seat. The first time I opened the rear seat fuse panel was to remove fuse 19 for the exhaust like you mentioned. I am also 6 ft. I basically sat in the driver’s seat and reached around. I thought I was going to break a rib bone lol.
@xtraceex6 ай бұрын
Probably one of the (4) ride height sensors. This would yield a hard ride, which I found annoying when this happened to mine. When a fault is detected, dampers revert to "firm" position. It would be a random failure, not related to any type of driving. You didn't break it!!!

Haven't you got the XKR exhaust fitted to your car hence the fuse needs to operate the flaps.?
