The fight was first class. Two excellent boxers/fighters. Champions. Now to the other observations: ring announcer was not up to standard for a world title bout; I didn't know Joe Pesci refereed fights.

@FatViking93 Fully agree but home advantage sometimes plays a part or backhanded payments to certain parties. Briedis beat Usyk and Usyk knew it at the bell, looked very subdued as clearly lost. Having said that Briedis was beaten by an American but got the nod. Very unusual some of decisions.

@FatViking93 I was a few feet back at this fight in Riga - didn't see Usyk win. Either way good fight. Meant a fighter from USA fighting out of Miami - NOEL MIKAELIAN I thought Briedis lost that fight but like the Usyk fight the expected winner won even though it didn't look like it.

The Samoan is another type of warrior! That alone puts every competitor at disadvantage, and this is facts based on statistics. Weight lifting, Rugby, NFL and boxing! Captain Cook recorded seeing natives boxing and wrestling upon his visit to Samoa.

Fully agree Briedis won the fight was robbed as he was against Usyk. Fought throughout with a broken nose and still won. Good fight and he'll smash that jaw properly in the rematch.

могли спаакойно отдать бой Бриедису. Проспект выглядел жалко в последних раундах. В 12ом упал в "ненокдаун". С возрастом конечно тяжело но кучу джебов, аперкотов Опетая просто сьел. В клинчах Бриедис выглядел лучше. Молодец конечно.

The commentary was primarily for Australian pay TV. Jeff Fenech was the co commentator and he knows a thing or two about boxing.

Feel sorry for the Aussie commenting that Jai lost but not really see how Jai handled the fight. First, for all rounds he lost he still throwed his punches to make up for the points he lost. Secondy, all rounds he showed tuffness by moving forward even if he got hurt. Thirdly he broke both his jaws ,one from the earlier round and the later rounds but still making points. Evenhes worst at 12 round he still throwing punches meaning points. Its enough to convinsed the judges. In boxing, Judges must be convinced with the way you fight. He did. Unlike Pacuiao vs the white aussie Jeff Horn? Clearly an embarrising. Clearly Jeff didnt win that fight lols😂😂See how Jai has grown now? Look at Jai now, even though he won but still waiting for a rematch with Briedis but Briedis cancelled 2 or 3 times already. Unlike those that once they win for an ounce,they run away. He even let go of his belts cos hes tired of waiting for Breidis but fight for the money to support his family?

Opetaia is a history in the world now. Fight from his Hart after the 2 round broken jaw. Man his first Boxing in the hole world win the title with broken jaw in 11 round and become the world champion. Man that how the Samoan man all about no retreat no surrender. Im an AUSSIE but i cant give Jai the win he started strong but the last five - six rounds were breidis and he did more damage as well bias aussie comentators they called every jai punch landing please dont get me wrong it was a fantastic fight but for me it was a draw if not breidis win.
