So your Haze user would get Fake Out'd by Xerneas' partner turn 1 (usually Protean Greninja, Incineroar, things like that), while it Geomancys, then turn 2 it would outspeed and OHKO you since Fake Out broke your Focus Sash. If you did happen to be running Murkrow, which almost nobody did back in Gen. 6 and 7, then congrats, you stopped the Xerneas setup and now you have a dead mon slot since Murkrow wasn't good before dynamic speed Prankster + Tailwind. That is, of course, if they don't just Fake Out + Moonblast turn 1 to kill the Murkrow and then Geomancy the next turn.

Anyone who has team built to counter xerneas understands wolfeys beef. It breaks every Calc you throw at it.

I have aphantasia too, drawing from memory just doesn't exist, though I can draw it I'm constantly looking at it, still, nightmare

Me too :( I realized this in my early teens when I was getting into manga and trying to draw more and I just couldn't picture what I wanted to come up on the paper. So I always had to have SOME kind of reference even if it wasn't directly related to what I was drawing. Even just picturing a human body outline is super challenging, and FACES man, I can't picture faces at all. I literally can't even see my own mother's face in my head, or even a simple character like Sonic the Hedgehog. It's a bit sad since I loved to draw but I really struggled with anything unique and especially with things like dynamic posing - I could draw a character in a T-pose faaairly well, but I just couldn't picture how things would look in a different position and even with one of those little pose-able wooden sketch helper anatomy thingies, it was just so difficult because I couldn't "see" how it was meant to look.

I have aphantasia. I have a really bad habit of unintentionally just copying references exactly when I’m trying to draw something, so it can look decent like that, but as soon as I try to draw a different pose or angle everything just falls apart. It really irritates me

Although I don't know if I'm 100% aphantasic - like when I'm reading I can imagine locations etc in simple terms but it's almost always just a rearrangement of places I've actually seen IRL. Like every single book with a farm I picture as a farm I visited a lot as a kid. And for example like I always have no idea how a character looks except in maybe the most general terms. It's really hard to describe. I can still imagine things but I just can't "see" them if that makes any sense?

Same here! When I began using references for my art, my art immediately became better (this was of course before I figured out that I had aphantasia) I didn’t know why at the time but I definitely know now!

My aphantasia leads to me remembering the details, but not necessarily being able to draw them correctly, if that makes sense. Though recognising when I get them wrong and being, "no, that doesn't look right"

I looked up like half a dozen videos of Xerneas doing different moves, and I couldn't find a single one where it spreads it's legs to look like an X. When it uses Geomancy it doesn't even move it's legs, it just stays in the exact same pose.

I did think the same thing at first, but then I realised it was normal type and remembered weedle only has poison sting. Weirdly, this actually came up in my work. We were listening to a demonstration of AI tools and database interactions, and the demonstration used Pokemon. It was using just Get 1 pokemon and asked the question 'which pokemon share at least one move with Pikachu' and I was there thinking 'Wait, doesn't that include every pokemon except weedle, caterpie, kakuna, metapod, magikarp and ditto'

True. Even though it shows Normal, it's STAB confirms it is the type that it does in damage, which is why it can hit ghosts (except if it becomes Fighting type). But obviously, Jaiden only counted what the game SAYS it is when the move is examined... yet ignored evolutions in the assessment.

Perhaps Ross memorizes visual details by breaking things down to descriptions of the overall shapes and elements. Either that, or like many good artists, he uses reference images.

artists that have aphantasia pretty much all struggle a lot to draw without reference images, so they depend on them more than even other artists. of course some of them might have found a way that works for them but yeah it’s hard man

Any creative media is more difficult with aphantasia. For most, you just find ways to memorize details without 'seeing' them, or use copious references
