On our way from Jaipur to Jodhpur during Kolkata to Rajasthan bike trip we explored two interesting places - Todaraisingh and Hadi Rani Ka Kund. Todaraisingh is a city in Tonk district of Rajasthan and situated at a distance of 130 km from the state capital Jaipur and 115 km from Ajmer. It is of immense importance to the Rajasthan's Art, Heritage and has immense archaeological significance. It was established during the 4th century by the Nagas and was later ruled by the Yuhilas of Chatsu and the Chauhans of Ajmer. It served as the capital to Solanki Rajputs during the 15th and 16th centuries. In year 593 AD Rao Raja Rai Singh Solanki founded the Town of Toda Rai Singh (named after himself, Rai Singh - Toda means settlement). In earlier times, it was also known as Takshak giri Takshakagadha or Takshakpur, Todapattan, Ishtikapur, etc. Toda Rai Singh has a number of places of tourist interest. Among them are - Shree kileshwar mahadev, Naharsingh mata, Aam sagar, Budh sagar, Sant pipa ji ki gupha, Kushal Bag, Hadi Rani Ki Baori (kund), Raja Rai Singh's Mahal, Isar Baori, Bhopat Baori and temples of Kalyanji, Raghoraiji, Gopinathji, Govinddeoji, etc. Next wewent to visit Hadi Rani ka Kund or "Baori" situated at just 1 or 2kilometersfrom Todaraisingh Mahal. Hadi Rani is known for her legendary character. She was a daughter of Hada Rajput and was married to a Chieftain Chundawat of Salumbar in Mewar. Hadi Rani sacrificed her life only to motivate her husband to go the war against the army of Aurangzeb. The speciality of the stairs of this well is that whoever comes down the stairs is not able to come back using the same steps. A scene of Amol Palekar's movie "Paheli" starring Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukherjee was filmed at this barori. After spending almost half of the day exploring these offbeat places in rajasthan we started for Jodhpur via Kekri, Nasirabad, Beawar, Pali, etc. The last 80 km, when we left the expressway and took the bypass road was beautiful anfd full of the flavour of the landscape of Rajasthan. We reached Jodhpur at around 7 pm covering a distance of approximately 445 km. We stayed at Dylan's Café and Guest House and spent the evening witnessing the mesmerizing view of Meherangarh Fort right in front of us. Please keep watching our channel "Sudurer Piyasi" for the upcoming videos.
