I was reading up about the making process of this movie. Apparently, the director had to shoot each scene three times, and the fact that they chose a 1 : 36 size difference between the large and small characters meant that EVERY SCENE of Javed Jaffery and Joy Fernandes was shot in front of a green screen. The net result was that each scene (especially with the villagers) was shot 3 times. For Javed to do his pieces in front of the villagers, he had to look down towards 1 foot dolls kept on the ground to give the impression of eye contact, while shooting in front of a green screen. In reverse, the people playing the villagers had to look at the top of a 36 foot bamboo pole to symbolize looking up towards Aditya or Jhamunda. I know the VFX feels a bit off, but seeing that it was in 2003, they did the superimposition the best they could. Also, looking at Adipurush, this is still a damn sight better for the budget that this crew had.

No matter how awkward the VFX might look, this was THE VERY FIRST movie that I ever watched in a theater, so it holds a special place in my heart. Also, the emotional tones at some places were REALLY well done, it breaks me into tears even today. So I just don't care that the VFX is bad. I still love this movie nonetheless.
