First, I must state that at 52 years old and started playing guitar in 1988, I of course worshiped at the altar of EVH and RR. But, in my opinion, Jake E. Lee was the best guitarist Ozzy ever had. Of not, then at least I think nearly everyone could agree that Jake is the most underrated rock guitarist of all time. His work with Badlands is unparalleled. Great job here, Maciej. Incredible skill.

I'm 53 and started playing in 85. Was riding my bike to a friend's and heard a dude and his buddy playing Bark At The Moon in his garage. One on guitar and one on drums. They went to my school. I was freaking out. Within 2 weeks I had my first Jackson and I was obsessed. Me and the garage guitar player became best friends and he moved me along at light speed vs learning on my own. This dude here is a freak to play like that. That's a whole other level. Jake has always been my #1 Ozzy gunslinger.

You can add Craig Goldy to that list, too. I had listened to his work on Dio's albums, but had no idea exactly just how good he was, until I watched "Craig Goldy guitar solo live Philly 1986" here on youtube. My mind was truly blown. He did some things I never saw Eddie, Yngwie, or Vai do. Check it out.

Especially when you listen to all the outtakes of all the tracks. While I am happy with the versions we got for road music (yes I know, pleb normie take), I do kind of wish we could have gotten some finished and refined versions of the outtakes. Maybe someday someone with comparable guitar talent and work ethic could make a cover. I know people want to scoff and say never. While it's rare you get covers that are as good as the original (or better), there's a guy who does crossover covers and he can do an Ozzy accent like nobody else I have ever heard. Covered Gangsta's Paradise in Ozzy accent in the style of Mr. Crowley. If there could be a collaboration without all the corporate butholes, it could be good.

In my opinion, that title goes to RR, hands down. Especially since he left us way too soon and we’ll never know where his creative limits would’ve taken us. The brief, precise and melodic music he left us with was merely scratching the surface of what his destiny should’ve been. While I respect your opinion, we’ll have to agree to disagree on this. I am a fan of Jake, for sure, but mostly of his time with Ozzy, although I did see Badlands live back in the day (iirc, at the time, Jake had a cast on his leg for some reason). It does seem to be unfortunate how Jake was apparently taken advantage of by Sharon and screwed out of writing credits and royalties.

@@gregwhaley4017 the Rhythm and lead playing on “ Bark at the Moon” I feel was more intricate and original than both the albums that featured Randy Rhoads. Some of Jake’s technics used on the two albums he played on I feel were tremendously underrated. Randy borrowed much more than Jake did in his playing. The beginning of “Diary of a madman “was directly out of an ancient classical composition. The tapping part from “ Flying High Again” was taken from a lick George Lynch showed Randy way back when. The Ending part of Mr Crowley was taken from “ Parisienne Walkways”. Randy’s playing will always be legendary, but I felt Jake’s playing had more confidence and fire.

@@michaelmiglino6512 The beginning of Diary is a slightly changed rip-off from Leo Brouwer Etude 6. Nothing wrong with that of course, that's what we call "being inspired", happens in music all the time. But from what i know Brouwer himself heard it and wanted to sue Randy and the Osbournes, but of course decided to leave it alone when Rhoads passed.

THats a hell of a lead, and you nailed it. totally boss! I also love Jake's rhythm playing and how he sneaks in unexpected chord extensions into waht are seemingly just power chords. Great shit, cheers

I LOVED this album and Ultimate Sin. Jake's work was 2nd ONLY to Randy. Zach is a good guitarist, but Jake is head and shoulders above and just to under rated. Great job on the music. Sounds just awesome

Nice work! You did Jake proud! Very clean playing! As great as Bark was, Ultimate Sin to me is where Jake truly shined. So many great songs with little fills, and crazy guitar work. I still have trouble playing stuff off that album. He is one of the best for sure.
