If he even gets close to how good he was before the injury, that Italian back row with lamaro, him and negri will be immense

Personally i would Say Halafihi not Negri. Negri hasn’t been himself this season (been injured for end of season also), and has been out shone by Pettinelli. Both Pettinelli and Negri don’t come close to the importance Halafihi offers both Benetton and Italy. I know Polledri at 8 would be ideal, but the ultimate back row of Lamaro’s defensive work, with Polledri’s ball carrying, combined with Halafihis who’s a complete all rounder : huge defensive work rate and carrying, that back row would be immense.

@@calex7763 yeah totally agree, with halafihi you have that versatility within the backrow, with him possibly being used at 8 freeing up polledri at 6/7. With negri I'm sort of cutting him a bit of slack because like polledri he was returning from injury (acl I believe *feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). But yeah if halafihi is best option come autumn nations or six nations I have no quarrel with that aslong as we have a good Italian side to back as rugby fans

On my previous comment it was just concussion

@@Nanuqar Yeah i agree. Polledri is the acl. Negri got a concussion yes during the six nations, he came back for 2 or so games then got an arm injury (like broken arm/rist or something)

Talking of Italian backrows, I have a suspicion we haven’t seen the last of Parisse in an Italian jersey too. Signed on for another year with Toulon, so I wonder if he might finish up for a final hurrah with the World Cup

His comeback only adds to what is a hugely formidable back row Gloucester have now created. Ackermann, Ludlow and Reid were fantastic in Polledris absence. Not forgetting Ben Morgan is finding form, Albert Tuisue is coming in and Jack Clement is a very gifted young player. Might have to convert someone similar to Freddie Clarke at this rate !

So sad he had the two years out with injury. Very excited to hear he’s back available to play for Gloucester. He must be a nightmare to defend! Fast and good footwork so you often can’t get a solid hit. But if you do get a full shot he’s got amazing power and strength and the balance to stay on his feet in contact or bump defender off. Great to watch.

he has been so much missed in these two years by the national team hope he'll be able to feature in the next 6N, i feel like after the georgia defeat we really need to prove something more than a win in every 7 years otherwise... 😢

Obviously had a poor summer but if Italy can get him and Minozzi back and keep the rest of their key players fit they could kick on from that win over Wales next year

Remember that game vs Quins well. He absolutely terrorised us from start to finish; he's one of the most dynamic carriers I can remember. Will be great to see him back from injury soon!

Two years lost to a knee injury in his prime like Ellis Jenkins. The welcome from The Shed will be deafening on his comeback. Only hope he can reach the heights displayed in this video once again.
