Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar: The Way of Water follows the journey of Jake Sully and Neytiri's newfound family. Despite their best efforts to keep their family together, a familiar threat resurfaces and forces Jake, Neytiri, and their four children to flee to the land of the Metkayina clan.
Avatar: The Way of Water's plot will be a fully-encapsulated, standalone narrative, as will the other sequels, but will also be part of a meta-narrative that extends across Avatar: The Way of Water, Avatar 3, 4 and 5.

Just noticed that jake hissed like a navi, with the sound acting as a battle cry and looking and sounding powerful, while quaritch seems more like an imitation of a cat hissing, and it shows the intent behind each hiss. Jake was embracing the culture and the custom, quaritch was mocking it.

Notice how Jake has more Na’vi features. Quaritch has more humanlike teeth with smaller canines. Jake also has sharp incisors in front of his canines.

Avatars tend to vary with appearance, some having more human like facial features and some less. Look at Grace's avatar, her nose is so human looking! Same with Kiri

1st one with Jake sounds like a genuine, realistic hiss from a na'vi while quaritch sounds like a weird attempt to hiss, like how a human tries to copy a cat's hiss 😂

@Hey, It’s Dollie! I always thought jayke acted way more navi like and fully embraced it while quaritch I feel like tries to not think bout it at all besides the mission and killing jayke. It’s all he’s being used for technically and once the RDA doesn’t need him. He’s not human anymore just a recom. Good enough reason for em to switch sides n realise

I feel like new Quaritch is going to have an idenity crisis. The more the movie progressed, the more connected he was becoming to pandora in a way, but his assigned goals from the RDA was stopping him (Kill Jake, stop them from destroying RDA infrastructures). While he may have been created with Quaritch’s DNA and got his memories uploaded, that doesn’t mean they’ve got the same brain. There’s also something within the Na’vi that helps them connect to their environment. He clearly seemed to want to ignore that, but as we saw in the banshee scene, his instincts kicked in (hissing). And unlike OG Quaritch, he showed great concern over his own son’s wellbeing. Quaritch used Spider to get to Jake, but what he didn’t forsee was him becoming attached and emotionally invested with him. Now it’s going to be very hard for him to go with any destruction plan the RDA has planned for Pandora’s native population since Spider is with the Sully family and he’ll want to get Spider out before the RDA send someone or something to go apprehend the Na’vi.

I love that even Quaritch can't resist the natural responses/instincts that come with his Recom "Avatar's" DNA. Hopefully we see more of him realizing that he's part of the Na'vi and Pandora whether he likes it or not.

Quaritch is definitely getting a redemption arc in the next 2-3 movies. Even in number 2 he’s much more aware of the na’vi perspective. I’ll eat my hat if he isn’t chaotic neutral by avatar 4/5

I love how jake when he hisses- It’s like the N’vi part takes over and he has no control over it and it’s a natural Hiss coming from instant- While Quaritch is trying to mimic it and trying to make himself sound powerful- So Jake Wins!!!- Plus the sound before Jake Hisses is his Hiss Revving up better he hisses. Jake has a more na'vi and natural sounding hiss like a Hua sound. While quraitch sounds like he hasn't figured it out yet more hraur sound. But my favorite jake hiss was in the battle when it's just quraitch and him fighting by the mobile unit. It was more animalistic, coming more from his chest then throat rather than just his throat.

Jake's hiss definitely has more power. To me, it didn't make sense for Quaritch to hiss. Jake hissed because he was adapting and becoming one of The People. Whereas Quaritch hates the Na'vi, so why would he act like one? He doesn't respect the Na'vi culture and I felt that he should have stuck to tranquilizing the ikran and forced it to bond with him. Perhaps he was trying to prove that he can do what Jake did as an Avatar, but in my opinion, it didn't fit his character.

@Dollie, The Fae! There’s a difference between wanting to “act” like one and embracing their culture and adapting to become Navi. Quaritch is just doing it for revenge against Jake so there is a distinct difference.

I saw someone comment something very good earlier.. Jake hisses' like ''Hes gonna fight a obsticle, or overwin a challange and become 'part of something'.. ect ect... While Quaritch hisses' Like hes ''mocking the belief, the taming, the creature it self, + mocking how he has to challange ''Jake'' previous taming of the creature (AV1) - to prove hes as much as a ''man''(Avatar) or even better MAN than Jake. So much feeling. Such mastery of the Na’vi accent. How she rolls her R when saying “I see you Rrronal” her face when Jake says let’s go get our daughters is insane. No he’s not. He’s a clone in a avatar body. It’s not the same as Jake because Jake actually learned the ways of the people and their lifestyle and embraced it. Quaritch is just getting Ikrans because he wants to “act” like Navi. No in order to do that you actually have to learn their ways and embrace it.

Haha COOL two so hissing stunned liked the most? I see that RDA soldiers like Sam Worthington and Stephen Lang are more Avatars, as soon as I saw I was immediately amazed. Even though they are actors, they did it here in this video, also before the television and film credits. 🙃😺
