I grew up listening to Brookie and the Rookie and than Angelo on that weird cable station comcast used to give you in their basic package , I think it was channel 24 or 25 and they would put up sports results in text form , have the horse race results going across the bottom of the screen and playing in the background was Angelo on WIP.

Here's the facts. Philly had one of the best rock scenes in the nation. Philly used to have two damn good FM radio stations, 93.3 WMMR, and 94.1 WYSP. WIP was 610 AM. YSP and MMR played awesome music 24/7/365, with their own local DJ's giving local bands "their shot" every weekend. WIP taking over YSP killed a golden era and replaced it with chicken wings, hooters girls, and homers. 👎

I'm a life-long Eagles fan who will listen to literally anyone talk about the Eagles and Philly sports in general, except WIP. I watch shows, I listen to 97.3, I listen to podcasts, and I even have conversations with strangers about Philly sports all the time. Everyone and anything but WIP. Angelo was big enough that he could tell his station manager Bleep you and not get fired. Many talk show hosts do not have that power. If they don't follow directions, they may be fired. But, Angelo is right about there being a tape of the incident. It must show clearly bad behavior or else Howard would protest his suspensions from stadiums. Since he must be guilty, he should apologize and retire. I'm about 2nd chances for minor incidents, but at age 73, time to go.

Yes he allegedly was sending/receiving emails from a married woman for about a month. Eskin sent the woman a dozen of roses. The husband finds out about it. He went into a jealous rage and stabbed his wife repeatedly to death, reports say he nearly decapitated her. Ultimately charged with 3rd degree murder and sentenced up to 24 years.

Too many young hosts that have no historical perspective on Philly sports. Every time they have a contest, they don't like going back more than 20-25 years because the kid hosts on the station can't relate. Losing Macnow, to retirement and possibly Eskin to disciplinary measures would further contribute to that problem

In all of my 67 years on this Good Earth, Eskin has been the least informed, most pompous sportscaster I have ever encountered, and considers himself to be an expert in all sports. Sad thing, is that he never put on pads, or an athletic cup. Time for Howie to start learning how to work the cash register at the local Mini-Mart.

They shouldn’t be talking about it on air. There’s a difference between talking about a scandal in the world of sports and talking about an in-house legal issue involving one of their own co-workers. How can the radio hosts talk about it responsibly when they don’t have the information or details to be able to talk about it. There’s been no details released other than he tried to kiss a woman. Now maybe the hosts who work there have gotten more details than the general public but it’s none of the general public’s business. WIP is from Philly and started sports talk radio a few decades ago. Eskin was one of the OGs. Sounded like he might have been drunk and tried to do a “Joe Namath” but no one knows the story. Eskin is a smart guy whether you like him or not so it’s surprising.

Not an Eskin fan per se, moreso respect the work he's done, but I don't see the big deal here. So he tried to kiss a woman, she rejected his advances (allegedly) and then that's it. What did he assault her? Did he grope her? No. He thought he had clearance, he didn't it turns out. End of story. If that's assault then lock everyone up

I’m a Philly girl and support my teams, but not surprised the Eagles aren’t doing anything. Remember this is a team that signed a quarterback that had a dog fighting business and crushed dog’s heads with a cinder block because they lost. Why would they care about this issue.

I hate Eskin. Always have. I think he's a complete douchebag. But if all he did was try to kiss a girl and she rejected him and that was the end of it then he did nothing wrong other than having the wrong impression that she felt the same way. Why did he do it? Did he have history with her with multiple interactions that would give him the thought that they felt the same way? Was he drunk? Was he forceful with it or was it a normal lean in? If it was just your normal guy likes a girl and says fuck it and goes for it and makes a move, gets rejected, and back off then that's literally normal human interaction. I bet every person that reads this comment has had that happen at least once in their life whether they be the one rejected or the one doing the rejecting. Can't really make a judgment towards any wrongdoing without proper details of the event.

@@sheilawroten4559 throughout history, many women have been caught in lies regarding sexual harassment and sexual assault and in some cases have ruined people’s lives over it so it’s very easy to believe she could just be another one of those. He also very well could have done something wrong. So far, however, the only thing mentioned is he tried to kiss her and she filed a report. Based on that it sounds like he did nothing wrong. Without fully confirmed details on what really happened, you can’t say he’s guilty of any wrongdoing. Everyone has seemed to forget how this country works so I’ll remind you. You are innocent until proven guilty. Seems you’re already demonizing him because he’s a man and taking the woman’s side without knowing a damn thing about what really happened.
