My burning hot take is going to be that the Knicks hit a home run this off season by extending Brunson, resigning Hartenstein to the most we can give even though other teams are offering some more, resigning OG to a big deal but with incentives, sign a good backup wing to the mid level that wants to win, and draft two players that give the team some depth but also a higher upside. Then a player like Giannis gets upset with his team by not having a great off season that doesn't change much of the glaring weaknesses the team has and he ends up making the big decision to ask out to New York before the year stars.

Jrue would/will def slow down Brunson. Brunson isn't superstar due to lack of elite size and/or defensive impact. Knicks fans will likely get their heart broken by Boston a couple times. I respect Brunson for not being stupid greedy. He's smart enough to know Knicks can't win it all the way they played this year (heavy Brunson iso). They all broke down physically before even getting to conference finals. There's a reason Jimmy Buckets only playing ~60 regular season games last few years = Thibs grind formally catching up.
