Brunson was given the keys to last year's FIBA team pretty much from Day 1 and was outplayed by Ant, Bridges, and Hali and the team failed to medal. It places a premium on pull-up shooters with size which is why KD and Melo are the greatest Olympic players of all time and why Booker was favored even though he's not as good as Brunson in a vacuum. back in 2004 when the States lost in the Olympics I would read plenty of comments saying "the states should've sent the Detroit Pistons (the nba champions that year) instead" it would be kind of like sending the Boston Celtics this year (although someone would have to replace Porzingis) so like Jaylen Brown would be going (I don't think he was invited to camp) Derrick White would be going etc

Pacers didn’t win because of Haliburton. Pacers won because the Knicks were injured as hell. They were without OG, Randle, Bogi and Mitch. Still took them 7 games, too. Hali isn’t better. He mostly played well at home or when the team was up bc he’s a front runner.
