Jam City was a weekly dance program created by Brenda Malik and her husband Hameen Abdul Malik after she joined the staff of Austin Community Television in 1982. It was produced and filmed by Austin youths and aired on Saturdays on ACTV, with local teens and dance crews lining up outside the studio each week in hopes of showing off their new routines on camera.
