JAM "Good Feeling To Know" promos for WJZ-TV (1982-86)

This is a collection of image promos which aired from 1982 to 1986 on WJZ-TV Channel 13 in Baltimore. The custom music is from the "It's A Good Feeling To Know" package by JAM Creative Productions. This highly successful campaign created a warm image for the station, which carried over into promos for the station's newscasts and other programming. Local news anchors Jerry Turner, Al Sanders, and even a young Oprah Winfrey are seen in some of the spots.

For those people of the Philippines, please note the original "Where you belong" campaign image jingle was actually composed by TM Productions back in the 1970s. But GMA Network switched to a different source material in the later years, this time a different tune provided by JAM Creative Productions, and still kept the "Where you belong" slogan with some of related elements of TM's Where you Belong were retained (plus added it's own lyrics from GMA).

I distinctly remember this package being used in the mid- to late-'80s in the Philippines on GMA, as "Where You Belong". I kinda wish someone would dig up some of those promos.

But the real composer and writer of GMA's "Where You Belong" jingle is the late George Canseco.

Canseco wrote the lyrics but JAM Productions provided the music.

Thanks WJZ for releasing this. I was one of those bunnies in pink. The only other copy I have of that commercial is on VHS. I clearly remember that taping that commercial downtown Baltimore at the Peabody. Such great memories of my childhood and dancing.

I apologize for the mistake. Well I thank you (JAM) for making this public. From what I recall someone from WJZ was invited to a recital. Then everything happened. I do know the bunnies were from Anita’s Dane Studio in Parkville, Md.

These station IDs remind me of GMA Network, a major commercial broadcasting television and radio network in the Philippines, in which these station IDs played during the rainbow network era from 1980 to 2002.

There was a radio version of the Where You Belong jingle at the 3:40 Mark For DZBB 594 kHz: This is GMA Radio-Television Arts. On Radio, you're tuned in to DZBB 594 kHz. The top-rated music personality station in Metro Manila. Member, KBP

The primetime version of It's A Good Feeling To Know was used by GMA Network as "Where You Belong (Primetime Version)". This was also used as an FM Radio-exclusive Top of the Hour ID for 97.1 WLS FM, while the instrumental version of the Primetime Version was used for the sign-off of DZBB and the sign-on and sign-off of WLS FM. This top-of-the-hour ID goes like this: This is GMA Radio-Television Arts. On FM Radio, you're tuned in to 97.1 WLS FM. The top-rated All-Hits music station in Metro Manila. Member, Kapisanan ng mga Broadkaster sa Pilipinas

This is an amazing collection of promos from WJZ-TV in Baltimore. I love the first promo that was featured. If I am not mistaken, it looks like Calico did the animations.

The old days of after me & my parents who are deceased arrived in Baltimore in 1981 when I was 9 years ago from the Twin Cities Mpls St.Paul Mn.The old days of when WJZ TV CH.13 was with ABC.& WMAR TV CH.2 was with NBC & WBAL TV CH.11 was with CBS until 14 years later Jan 2 1995 when all 3 stations switched network.
