In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

My opinion of Jamali has risen 10fold this week. From finding that reciept, his abstract paint task, straight up smashing that toolbox, and now this; he's been an absolute delight.

I liked him from the start, but I agree he's getting better with time on the show. I actually hope he wins, though Sarah is quite far ahead at this point, and while Jamali had a good last couple of episodes his general streak in the pre-recorded tasks probably means it's not gonna happen.

When Lee Mack isn’t people’s favourite you know it’s a great season. I remember people saying it’s poor casting and the only strong personality will be Lee, and look how it turned out. They are all great.

It's crazy to me that, at least I can't recall, a time where one of the comedians just went "what the fuck? No, that's really stupid I'm not doing that" I mean, I know they are all comedians and it's all in good fun at the end, but tensions have run high on task filming days and you know some of those had to have been very long days. And yet still, everyone just goes with it because little Alex Horne is there.

Have you seen him on Frankie Boyle's NWO? He's proper smart, but he also knows that with his complexion, voice, intonation, etc there will always be people who would never listen to a serious word he's saying. Playing the fool has to be part of the game.

Yeah (for this series) . Jamali haunted the cabbages in episode 2. Also, it's not a task. These are promotional interviews for the channel.

@@AM-rp6sc When I think about the likes of Bob mortimer or Liza tarbuck or James acaster, I think about how insane they were, how articulate and weird they were and how inventive and artistic they were. Jamali has none of that. He's not funny, he's not weird and he doesn't do any of the tasks in an inventive way. I think he was too blase and to me he seemed jaded, like he was too good for the show and didn't really care if he did well or not. A waste of a contestant imo.

Really? How have you managed to avoid joining the Mike Wozniak train so far? I didn't know him before this but he has been a delight throughout. Obviously Lee is great albeit not the best at tasks and Sarah is smashing it. Jamali I didn't really like at the start because he was so 'anti' everything, but he did grow on me this last episode. All in all I think this is a fantastic cast (and I could watch Mike and Lee doing team tasks forever). I had far less fun with Daisy and Richard last series (but loved Katherine, Johnny and Mawaan).
