Fun fact: Roald Dahl was originally going to write about a giant cherry, but changed it to James and the Giant Peach because a peach is "prettier, bigger and squishier than a cherry."
Because of the story's occasional macabre and potentially frightening content, it has become a regular target of censors.

i LOVE your accent; I can never get enough of regional accents and hate how they’ve been historically stamped out in the media. Thank you for fighting back! I grew up with Eva Ibbotson and can’t find audiobooks of hers; she wrote for kids and young adults, but the YA stuff has lots of French and German sprinkled in. On the other hand, Diana Wynne-Jones is much better-known but there are still some obscure books of hers that I can’t find audiobooks of. (These have both been marketed as “If you love Harry Potter, you’ll love this!” and I think their work should be way more widely disseminated than it is, as *ahem* much better alternatives, particularly due to The Horrors.) Either way, keep up the wonderful work!
