Once in a lifetime, a very special singer comes along... I am 52 years old, like many kinds of music, but this young man is so unique. I cannot find the words, just too good for words... I hope we all may enjoy Mr. Bay for a long, long time.

From walking home and talking loads To seeing shows in evening clothes with you From nervous touch and getting drunk To staying up and waking up with you Now we're slipping near the edge Holding something we don't need All this delusion in our heads Is gonna bring us to our knees So come on, let it go Just let it be Why don't you be you And I'll be me? Everything that's broke Leave it to the breeze Why don't you be you And I'll be me? And I'll be me From throwing clothes across the floor To teeth and claws and slamming doors at you If this is all we're living for Why are we doing it, doing it, doing it anymore? I used to recognize myself It's funny how reflections change When we're becoming something else I think it's time to walk away So come on, let it go Just let it be Why don't you be you And I'll be me? Everything that's broke Leave it to the breeze Why don't you be you And I'll be me And I'll be me Tryna fit your hand inside of mine When we know it just don't belong There's no force on earth Could make me feel right, no Tryna push this problem up the hill When it's just too heavy to hold Think now is the time to let it slide So come on, let it go Just let it be Why don't you be you And I'll be me? Everything that's broke Leave it to the breeze Let the ashes fall Forget about me Come on, let it go Just let it be Why don't you be you And I'll be me? And I'll be me

Any guitarist/singer knows how extremely difficult this is to play and sing let alone come up with. Insanely talented.
@richikdadhich29142 жыл бұрын
Not hating on James Bay but this is a fairly easy song to play on the guitar.
@gibbethoskins86212 жыл бұрын
@@richikdadhich2914 Easy on guitar for an accomplished guitarist, but try coming up with it and singing it simultaneously to this level ...is my point.
@richikdadhich29142 жыл бұрын
@@gibbethoskins8621 yeah, I agree with you. James Bay’s vocal range is amazing and t’s not easy to come up with something like this. However, this was one of the first songs I learned when I started playing the guitar a few years ago. Hence, a correct example of “extremely difficult” to play and sing would be something like Voodoo Child or Texas Flood by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Neon by John Mayer and Big Love by Fleetwood Mac.
@gibbethoskins86212 жыл бұрын
@@richikdadhich2914 I've been a professional guitarist and singer for 17years, performed on TV in front of millions of people and played large festivals over my career and i find this song quite difficult to play and sing simultaneously, so i definitely wouldn't put it in the beginner category. The guitar alone is quite simple but it's that melody over the top which i find tricky. My 2nd guitarists plays the songs you mentioned with ease but find this style quite difficult, everyone has different abilities and strengths when it comes to guitar styles and vocals.

I'm rrying to learn to play this song and sing along not the greatest singing byt its fun but the timings are so wierd when you do at the same timw definitely agree with you here

I kept hurt and pain hidden for a long time, joy also. It must be that our emotions, good or bad, are all part of 1 “thing”. I dunno. Anyway, it took years for me to get like that, see I didn’t really notice, I was basically numb. Then I relaxed in bed 1 night and really listened to James Bay through my headphones: like a limb waking from pins and needles, I started to hurt, feel, then cry. It wasn’t bad though, because I could feel again. Music can do so much if you let it. He will never read this but, thank you so much James. Your gift basically bought me back to life. I’ll be forever grateful.
@Jaqvander4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, if you repress pain, you also repress love, joy.. life, basically. It's both, or nothing.

These songs make me feel on a level that is unparalleled. Complex emotions that I run from during the day, on a consistent basis. It's 2am Eastern Standard Time. I can't sleep again. I have hardly done any of that , since I called it quits. The idea we could work is a delusion. I could send you a million spiteful texts , point out your bad character traits, express my deep "hatred" and tell you what to fix about yourself, but that isn't my place. You ripped my heart out, then stepped , and spit on the pieces. I had to Let It Go for me. That doesn't make me miss you any less.

To start the lyrics are so pure and poetic catching love same as the ending of it, the painful necessity to go seperate ways although memories of loving still tie you together...the melody and play of the guitar simple and hearttouching at the same time, is absolutely hypnotic, to always start all over again.The singing and voice is unique full of emotion although far from being perfect it goes strait to the heart.the head voice so soft but intense and intimate gives the feeling He is singing next to you and only for you...beautiful combination with energetic changes to chestvoice at the right parts giving the Song the right flow, the honest and straight chestvoice singing at the end, not 100 percent perfect, is even more emotional, one of the most beautiful Songs to my ears, thank you for that wonderful Song James Bay ur awsome
