This song expresses every emotion I felt when my darling wife died. It was played at her funeral and it remains in my heart everytime I hear it even after a dozen years. Some ignorant people mock James, but for many his music touches the raw emotions that everyone will one day experience.

I lost my daughter last month. She was 18 months old. I listened to this song with her before she left. She had the most beautiful blue eyes and smile. I can still hear her laugh as I danced around the room with her. I don’t know at this point how I can carry on without my angel. I had her later in life at 41 and I didn’t realise I had never really loved anybody before her. Daddy will see you soon my beautiful baby.

Watching this in bed at 2am with tears rolling down. Not from a death or from a loss, but just from the sheer beauty of this profession. It’s not just a song - it’s a touching and legit profession of love and outpouring of heart. What a blessing.

And somehow I am gladdened that I have been there all this time for them and for my beautiful wife. Amen

Absolutely adore this song. Creeps into my mind on occasion and I have to listen to it. Brings memories of a really difficult time flooding back for me. I was serving and deployed far from home for 7 months, left a brand new son and a fresh relationship behind. I've always casually enjoyed this song. But what a performance! He is so captivating and pulls you along every step of the moment. This is my favorite James blunt song it has been since I was a teenager. Me and my future wife would get super wasted and confess our love to each other but it would not last with our insecurities. 10 years later I married that woman ironically having the processional to bonfire hearts and our first dance to beautiful (preformed by a friend of ours with some lyrics changed to make it not sad as shit lol), and fast forward 10 more years and this song is painfully fitting. I'm alone, bawling my eyes out because these lyrics are never something I thought I would really understand. Mental illness has ripped her away from me and I don't want her to go. Thank you James for going where I couldn't and putting words down that hurt and leave you vulnerable.
