007: Agent Under Fire - Nintendo GameCube, PlayStation 2, Xbox Version Comparison #1: Xbox Pros: Best sound quality. Outperforms the PS2 and GameCube versions in terms of sound separation. Contains all the same goodies from the original PS2 release (loading screen icon, fade-in effect, surround sound effects, uncut P2K sound effect, same FMV quality, unchanged difficulty, sensitivity, etc.) However, the only thing from the PS2 version that didn’t get carried over to the Xbox version is the over-the-top shades of colors, but more on that will be in the “Cons” section. Contains extra multiplayer features not found in the PS2 version. Plays exactly like the PS2 version minus the fact that you can no longer strafe with shoulder buttons but you can still strafe with the analog sticks and it actually works far better than the PS2 version in this aspect. Also, the Xbox version likes to switch to 30 FPS in some missions unlike the PS2 version but the multiplayer fares better in this version. The performance still slows down, but not as problematic compared to the original PS2 release. Arguably the best controls. It even has a couple of extra buttons for weapon switching and aiming. However, Setup 2 is the most preferred, as the moving and aiming controls are the most modern the game offers. Jaggies are well-cleaned up. Can rocket jump (only on first release though. Later revisions patched it). Cons: Loads slightly faster than the PS2 version but loads slower than the GameCube version. Choppy performance. Explosions cause massive slowdowns in multiplayer and in some missions, the frame rate switches to 30 FPS when the player loads the next segment of a mission or when the player fails or restarts the mission for the first time. The locked 60 FPS in the GameCube version definitely outclasses the Xbox version in this department, though the locked 30 FPS in the Xbox version is more consistent compared to the variable 60 FPS in the PS2 version so it still beats out the PS2 version in this aspect. Limited 480p support. For reasons unknown, only the intro and a few single player missions support 480p, whereas the multiplayer, the menus, and the rest of the missions are only viewed in 480i. As mentioned in the “Pros” section, the shades of color were slightly toned down compared to those seen in the PS2 version. The reason why is that EA decided to alter the graphics for the Xbox and GameCube releases, so one of their attempted solutions was to make the shaders look more “realistic” in those versions, and in my book, they failed miserably. While the effects in the PS2 version look a bit more over-the-top compared to the later releases, the more colorful art style is actually preferred. The colors in the other ports look a bit pale in contrast. Shelters are missing doors in the Harbor map (unlike the PS2 version). #2: GameCube Pros: Best frame rate. Best texture quality. Fastest load times (not sure why Xbox loaded a bit faster in this video). Like the Xbox version, it contains extra multiplayer features that the PS2 version lacks. Much like the Xbox version, again, you can rocket jump as long as it's the first release and not the later revisions. Cons: Worst sound quality. Because the GameCube version only runs in standard two-channel stereo, the audio quality is not on par with the Stereo Surround of the PlayStation 2 version or the Dolby Digital 5.0 of the Xbox version. This also means that the GameCube version lacks all of the surround sound effects that the PS2 and Xbox versions have. This is because the GameCube version’s stereo does not support surround sound. For reasons unknown, the sound effect for the P2K firearm is slightly cut. Reduced difficulty. Enemy accuracy & aggression is lower across all difficulties in the GameCube version, making them much less challenging compared to the accuracy & aggression the enemies have in the PS2 and Xbox versions. This is the case in single player and multiplayer. The hardest difficulty in the GameCube version is somewhat comparable to the normal difficulty in the other two versions. On the other hand, the hardest difficulty is downright insane in the PS2 and Xbox versions. Oddly enough, James Bond in the GameCube version moves slower when he walks on stairs and slopes. Fuzziest FMV quality. Due to the GameCube’s limited disc space, all of the FMVs were compressed for them to fit on the small disc. Aiming sensitivity feels higher than the other versions. The shades of color were greatly toned down, more so than on Xbox. Because of this, the shading looks the dullest of the three versions. Different experience. Because the GameCube version removed the fade-in effect and the loading screen icon that the PS2 version had and altered the aggression & accuracy for enemies and the way how Bond moves on stairs and slopes, the experience does not feel quite the same as the original PS2 release, thus the experience feels quite different to the point where it feels inferior to the PS2 version if you played that version before this version. Of course, this is not a major turn-off for everyone else who doesn’t care about the slight downgrades and changes in this version, but for those who are like myself who mainly prefer versions of games that contain the original vision of the developers, this is a big negative. Like the Xbox version, Shelters have had their doors removed from them in the Harbor map. #3: PlayStation 2 Pros: The original version. Best shades of colors. Has shoulder button strafing, if anyone cares. Shelters have doors in Harbor. Cons: Lacks the bonus multiplayer features from the GameCube and Xbox releases. This means that you cannot battle with bots, the top agent mode is inaccessible without 3-4 players, and the scoreboard cannot be viewed during a match. Longest load times. The Multiplayer is locked at 30 FPS with dips. No 30 FPS mode for single player like on Xbox. The reason why this is an issue is because the 60 FPS on PS2 is jumpy in many areas, so it doesn’t feel quite as consistent compared to how it runs on Xbox. The locked 30 FPS in the Xbox version tends to make the gameplay more consistent. Face buttons to shoot and drive can feel awkward to those who are accustomed to shooting and driving with triggers. Looks the most jagged. Can’t rocket jump. Pros/Cons: Xbox: 7/5 GameCube: 5/9 PlayStation 2: 4/7 Verdict: Without a doubt, this is one of the most difficult comparisons that I have endeavored. Because all three versions of this game have their own advantages and disadvantages, it makes it hard to decide which one of the three is truly the best version. So you really can’t go with any of these versions in the end, and there is no such thing as the definitive version here. However, the Xbox version has the most advantages, as not only does it have the extra features for multiplayer, but it retains everything from the PS2 version in regards to the sound effects, difficulty, presentation, and playability. It also has the best sound quality, decent colors, more stable frame rates in single player and multiplayer (with the option of playing multiplayer in 30 FPS if you wish, and this can also help with the frame rate issues you may experience when playing in 60 FPS), and the best controls especially if you have it set to Setup 2. For these reasons, the Xbox version is superior, as it has the most benefits and is the most PS2 version accurate in many ways (not all ways, but most ways). While the GameCube version has its benefits when it comes to load times, performance, and texture quality, the GameCube version also introduces enough disadvantages to place it behind the Xbox version in my book. Had it kept everything else the same as the other versions, it would have been the best version. Despite its oddities, I’d still have to slip this version ahead of the PS2 version due to the added multiplayer features, smoother performance, and cleaner graphics. The PlayStation 2 version, as much as I love it for being the original version of the game, falls in last place for lacking the benefits and the bonus features that the other two versions have, even if it doesn’t have the disadvantages of the GameCube version. Overall Verdict: #1: Xbox #2: GameCube #3: PlayStation 2

@@equilibrium7927 Thanks for the sub :) To answer your question, that game is also best on Xbox. It sounds nicer and looks significantly cleaner than the other versions, so it’s the best version overall. But, interestingly, there seem to be instances where the other versions run at a higher frame rate (though inconsistent) whereas the Xbox version is capped at 30 FPS at all times. Also note that the PSP version has some major differences. For instance, some missions are completely absent (particularly the Istanbul driving mission) and several other missions were stripped down in the PSP version.

what a good game, a little short but is a hell of a good time i played the PS2 version and runs pretty good, probably it runs and looks as good because this was made for that console (and, as the description of the video said, it was originally a PS2 version of 007 TWINE so is obvious that was the target system) I think the other versions doesn't look as good because of rush porting, GC and Xbox versions were released a 4 months after the PS2 version. Based on the comparison the Xbox version is the one that suffered the most because is look more more blurrier, but you can also argue is a good thing because that version have less aliasing than in the other consoles. The game is not part of the Xbox 360 backwards compatibility list so probably some kind of program was used to make it run on that console, unfortunately it runs way too fast, sucks because it looks pretty good in HD

This is a RGH modded system, meaning it technically can run every single xbox game, However, many straight up don't boot, freezes at some point, major "seizure-inducing" graphics issues, too low FPS and a lot of slowdown or in the case of here, too high FPS and runs way too fast. Rare exceptions here and there but many are blacklisted for a good reason.

As was common in this era, PS2 was the lead platform and the other systems were largely an afterthought.

Gamecube versions seems to be best in terms of sound and visual quality. For some reason, the PS2 version seems best in all aspects, with the Gamecube having some odd transparency issues and the Xbox having worse textures all around. In driving stages, Xbox is missing vehicle shadows as well.

I think that it is because has been tested in a Xbox 360 modded with rgh. There is an update that allows to play more Xbox original games. But many of them work with several problems, It is strange to play them perfectly in a 360.
