I used to think this show was recorded at London's Hard Rock Cafe, but after some investigating it turns out that it was recorded at a venue called Hard Rock in Manchester on March 2, 1973.

Man this was a great show! The band was tight as a ball and glove!! I saw Mr. Brown twice during 1973 and one of them was at the legendary apollo !!!!! This show was similar and the funk was alive and well that night!! This show is the bomb but I wish they had recorded it as is!!!

Yeah man he did about 14 splits that night at the Apollo! When he played the Apollo his shows were never the same! He changed every show every single performance! I wish I had tickets to the midnight show because it's always longer!! I was 17 years at that time and I was happy as can be! I will never forget it!!

It's interesting that during this period Mr. Brown was in his "let's start songs with the bridge" phase lol. "Soul Power", "Make It Funky" and "Super Bad" all start off with the bridge.

Il a souvent fait ca quand meme tout au long de sa tres longue carrière, il n aimer pas trop les temps mort.. il manque beaucoup a la musique d'aujourd'hui!! Surtout le rap en France..

I think this was recorded in London as Hard Rock Cafe didn't open a second cafe and expand until 1978

Definitely early 1973. Maceo returned in January of 1973. This must have been just before Black Cesar was released.

i am certain this is march 2nd 1972 at the hardrock manchester, i was there and this hardrocck had nothing to do with the hard roch cafe franchises .
