How can these influencers keep making the same mistakes OVER AND OVER AGAIN and they still have a career? Unbelievable.
@BearPawSwipe7 ай бұрын
They only have the careers they present to have. It is kind of like hollywood actors, some truly are wealthy, while the others pretend to be. Influencers are only talked about because they are propped up by SM.
@sarahmoorhead81467 ай бұрын
I mean people in marketing, advertising, and sales for cosmetic companies all do the same thing. They are employed by a big brand, they make materials that make their product look like it’s the best thing on earth, convince people to spend money, then celebrate making sales. Influencers are the same thing. Only, instead of being slaves for a company 40 hours a week, they are contracted for short term work that essentially does all of these things. As long as advertising and marketing exists, so will influencers careers.

Influencers are just glorified salesmen. These tactics they use to get you to buy are just as bad as the tactics salesmen use when you go and buy a car, or mattress, or whatever. I don't understand how people give so much trust to people they've never met and will never fully know just because they post pictures of their food and vacations 🙄

The sad thing is that the beauty community online started out as a way for people to actually post their honest thoughts/reviews on makeup etc. but of course once beauty reviews got more popular brands realized how they could use this to their advantage and start sponsoring people. At the end of the day once brands/sponsorships start being involved you don't know who is a sell out and who isn't. I don't fully blame influencers for wanting to take a sponsorship, it is their job at the end of the day, but I wish more of them would actually chose sponsorships on products they genuinely like instead of promoting crappy products.

As far as disclosure guidelines, every person involved in the release of a video concerning a sponsorship and the brand used should be held responsible. The influencer could have disclosed properly and the brand could have made that as part of the agreement with them. I say this all the time it’s intentionally being done. Hopefully more people learn to do their own research on products.
